An FD can hardly be compared to modern day Mazda vehicles. I looked at all of them last year for my wife and they're all the same. We loved the 6, but it is far from "quality". Its amenities are on par with everyone else and the execution is "meh". The problem is it feels soooo god damn cheap, and that's because it is. Plastic leather, infotainment should be shamed to death, power is pathetic, and structural integrity of the body is that of aluminum foil. Got in a fender bender and my body guy told me the panels on the 6 are some of the thinnest of every car he sees. The MPG is great though. I call them recyclable cars, but then again most are these days.

Every which way you look. The Mazda 3 is highly rated... Especially the S trim level.

You hit it right on the nose with the FD unknown, also had the 1st gen mazda3 5speed manual loved it but could not afford both FD and 3. The 3 handled better then some rear wheel drive cars car was great fun and reliable. Would get another mazda3 in a heartbeat or this cx9 has a DD.
