I thought there was an STI forum where I got some info about Cobb's AccessPort. But besides this I've not registered or really spent time visiting a forum. I just ran a search and where ever Google took me was where I read. Lol.

^ yah, that one!

u guys ever think about getting the rear fogs for the rear valance (diffuser)?
i think i want to get one but dont want it wired up to the brake lights. i want functionality as a fog lamp, so i'd like to get a rocker (or push) to fill one of the blanks under the cluster. anyone know where i can get a nice oem looking switch that fits the blanks? preferably one dat has a fog lamp icon..but it doesnt need to have the icon. |

have u guys unplugged the resistor for the DRL? i hate DRL and kinda kicking myself for not undoing dat plug under the passenger side headlamp while i had the car on ramps while installing the splitter the other week. i read it's easy access from the fog lamp service access on the bottom. :ugh:
i suppose i can make a re-attempt when i decide if i want to do the cobb intake+accessport.. or just wait till oil change. |
cleaned my bay today. :p looks new again.. i mean the car is new, but had salt dust on the bits so I washed it all off. used Griot's engine cleaner.

drove my STI with cobb's 93 octane stage1 OTS map. :D im still in the last few hundred miles of break-in so did not wot.
anyway i like the power delivery and being able to cruise like my Z at 1600+ rpm instead of before where i had to keep it around 2K. obc mpg went up from 19.5 to near 24 in one drive which was expected. the only negative i felt was from a stand still, the initial throttle from no input to about 30% felt dead :ugh: so it took a little getting use to the car again, nearly stalled in [I] mode. now running [S] mode.. will see how it goes when i open it up soon. |
Rear fog and LED I will use in the JDM fog should be in my hands tomorrow, waiting on the switch.. Back ordered. :ugh:
Going to swap the switch plate too. |
Btw wat do u guys think about the factory extended arm rest? I might get one, just not sure if it's so high that i might bump my elbow or not.
|
looks like this thread turn into kenchan's STI thread.. :ugh:
anyway, i got the factory fog sw and trim piece today. :p will do the install sometime next week. |

Alotta guys like it, personally will be getting one if I jump into an STI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
yah, i think im gonna get me one too. usually i dont like arm rests but on the STI, the short shifter allows a lot of elbow clearance so probably no issue with my elbow hitting it each 2,4,6 shifts. :ugh:

worked on the rear jdm fog today.. not finished yet as i ran into a little bump..
i got the lamp itself installed along with one wire from trunk to driverside fuse box.. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...ar-jdm-fog.jpg problem i ran into waz dat the impreza trim i bought dat has the extra hole for the fog sw is shaped differently for the interior dim dial... so i would not fit. :ugh: so i endedup drilling out the left hole and sanded it down nicely for a factory finish.. also wired up a red LED dat will light up when the rear fog is turned on.. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...i-sw-plate.jpg this is how it would look at the end.. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...-sw-plate2.jpg car looks like this right now.. :ugh: http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...ti-pending.jpg |
basically if u have the 2016 STI, dont buy the switch trim PN: 83472FJ010VH

From yahoo auto.. basically not much of a change and no affect for real STI folks who opt the high wing..
Opting for the 2017 WRX STI nets you a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-4 delivering 305 hp to all four wheels. The sole transmission on offer is a 6-speed manual and buyers can now choose a low-profile trunk spoiler as a no-cost option in place of the taller rear wing normally fitted to the WRX STI. Trim levels for this model include base and Limited. Prices for the 2017 Subaru WRX start at $27,515 while for the WRX STI you’re looking at a starting price of $36,015. Both figures include an $820 destination charge. |
whered everyone go? :ugh:
still enjoying my STI. :p great car, lots of fun. noone so far as made comment about my wing. :D |
forgot to mention, i disabled hill assist. SO MUCH NICER to drive now off inclines.

yah, the STI's factory horns sound like crap.. :ugh: but they are pretty loud though.
recommend u swap the left side mirror lens with one for the JDM passenger side (RHD). my wife picked one up for me while in japan. no more blind spots!! :D |
good to hear, sti blind spot is waaaay better than the z. hey what is your max psi??? im around a little over 15psi.....
|
18.5psi. I run Cobb stage1 or watever it was called... I drove my Z yesterday for the first time in a few weeks. Car felt slow..:ugh:
|
Btw did u know I got a GTI the other day too? :D

Why a GTI all of the sudden? |

Just wanted to try the DSG as I am an aging MT driver with a sore left ankle.. I like it; thing is fast as hell with even a mild tune and light weight wheels. Recently lowered on VWR springs. And the stereo is just phenomenal. :p I can see myself getting another electronic clutch car in the future. Hell I might get the GolfR next time. |

after driving my GTI, i hop into my STI with nav, keyless, and harmon stereo.. i notice how mediocre the interior quality and infotainment is in the STI. :D but i luv my STI. thing is a blast to drive. |
