I got about 30k miles off the RE-11's not bad when they are rated for like 12K miles. I wanted a tire this round that would be the best of both worlds, hence I wanted the Pilot SS series. Oh well maybe in 2 years when I need new tires again that Michelin will have my sizes available. Not racking the Z but would like to in the future. I made a killing on the S04's, out the door was $917.

They took extra care and paid attention to the small details. I missed meeting you when you were at Endless, got there right after you left.

I considered new wheels, lasted about half a second. The sport wheels are some of the best looking oem wheels, you would think they were after market, and to top it off they are light weight Rays, so I asked myself "why swap em out when I have cool wheels to start with"... Now to personalize them I had them powder coated and had the calipers powder coated and the result is one siq looking wheel and to top it off I did not have to spend 4 grand. :p

You waiting on the works wheels ? Those will be siq, anything by works is siq :tiphat:

How are the spats holding up and your side blades? David at Endless was gonna replace the screws on the blades to secure it better. Did he do yours ?

Cant wait to see your build.

Definitely David helped me with my VIP maxima and all that he is my neighbor after all haha

Don't have to spend 4000 buy used haha

They're holding well one popped off a week after getting them on because I'm way too low haha clipped it on the side walk pulling in somewhere and yea we re did my skirts might move on to full sideskirts not sure yet. Mine are secured from inside the side skirt now

Of course its very rare that you move to a different tire that you know going into it, is going to be worse but I think a large part of this is that street tires go through so many heat cycles that by the time you replace them their grip levels are much lower than whey were when you installed them and the change has been so slow and gradual that its impossible to notice. Anyway, just thinking in text here.

:iagree:

In addition not to mention the placebo effect when first test riding the new tires is that anything new is going to have better grip than the grip levels from a worn tire. Where as it's going to be a tough evaluation at least until you have at least 500 miles on the new tires and scrubbed in. :tiphat:

True on wheels, but for now I am happy with my refinished wheel/caliper combo. If I were to mount up some after market wheels they might take away from the focus on the rest of the car, sometimes wheel choice and what has been done to the exterior of the car can ruin the flow and theme of the build, it's a fine line on wheel choice. Well that is my reasoning for keeping the stockers, after all the stockers look awesome to start with and with a color change (subtle) the wheels flow with the rest of the car. Another more valued reason, is that I have spent my wad and have no money to even think about a wheel swap. :p

Sux about the spats, the do look cool. Mine had to be remounted and cured properly with the compound to set. Temps were low the day they were installed and I had tape on them to hold them in place during set time which was cold and raining. Second time around we left the car in the body shop over the weekend to cure and set.

Dang...I am going to have to hit David up to remount my skirts with more secured screws. Thanks for the fyi. You car looks clean and low, wish I could drop some more but fear my driving days in the canyon would be over due to scrapping. It's a trade off for looks over functionality. :tiphat:

Checked there and everyone is out of my size in Pilot SS...darn bad timing on the buying tires, all of them are re tooling.

Parts 4 sale, giving you guys first dibs before I open up sale threads. Below is what you always wanted and in time for that present under the X-Mas tree.

1) Sunline Spats by Aerojacket FRP already color matched - Red. Never used, but mounted, then I switched over to their CF version. Ready to paint and mount or mount if you have a red Z. Let em go for 250, normally go for 350.

2) Berk HFC's about 20k on them, no leaks. Let em go for 300, normally go for 550.

3) Canon 50D DSLR with standard lens, throw in a battery pack, low mileage. $800

Hit me up if interested before I toss them to the wolves.

Tempestz 12-11-2013 09:50 AM

One of you guys needs to get those high flow cats! thats one heck of a deal. I would but i just invested in the Z1 header/testpipe combo.

yea not many people have much money to spend but i feel like used TE37 would be nice but yea

once i get the works in im working on the ride height im going to raise it a bit more right now i can drive almost anywhere as long as theres not steep drive way or anything as low as i am yea canyon runs might be bad on the sideskirts haha but im raising mine to a more functional height soon
but still low hahaha

my rears were a bit easier to put on they weighed a bit less than the actual sunline/areojacket, less material was use mine was a bit more flexible so it was able to mold to my car better waiting for my lip paint that and a few other things then when tax season comes around looking to buy a new exhaust and minor bolt ons headers, intakes, tune, etc..

Tempestz 12-11-2013 10:13 AM

If you guys wait around for another couple of weeks, I should have my Z1 headers and test pipes installed and you guys will be able to see they actually perform. if they are really what they say they are.

CarbonFZ 12-11-2013 11:56 AM

BTW you guys are killin me on the Sac Z and G group i dont like that steven guy hahaha love how he tries to defend himself but fails hahahaha

SuperDave 12-11-2013 01:03 PM

My son woke up this morning, crawled in my bed, and said to my wife, "Mom, I have a secret to tell you". He leaned over and whispered in her ear, "Wood hood"!!!!!!! I shıt myself laughing so hard and had to take another shower.

Tempestz 12-11-2013 01:11 PM

Pure WIN!!!

CarbonFZ 12-11-2013 03:32 PM

anyone have a motordyne exhaust or heard one? looking into getting a new exhaust in the next couple months

SuperDave 12-11-2013 04:18 PM

MB37 does, and it sounds incredible. Better than FI in my opinion.

CarbonFZ 12-11-2013 05:04 PM

haha its my first choice im trying to see if its worth the $1700 any other you recommend? im not a huge fan of the FI love the sound thgouh

NINJA 12-11-2013 05:30 PM

Do you want loud? Dave's meisterschaft setup sounds really good. I've got MXP, Ruben has short tail equivalent. Nick shoelace has prius for a few more weeks. Then he gets FI.

Yeh, not one to buy used parts, but if a deal came up and TE37 and for the right price, I would somehow find the $$.

Coil overs would solve the height issue at least I would hope so. But yeh I know what you mean about making the whip functional for canyon runs.

I know David had three guys hold the spats in place while the compound set. Should be good to go now.

What lip are you looking at?

Motordyne is an awesome exhaust, but isn't the full benefit of their exhaust is when paired with their plenum intake?

Can't wait for tax return $$$ for more mods.

Tempestz 12-11-2013 08:09 PM

The motordyne exhaust has the proven greatest gains of all other exhausts, that in itself should be enough. I would go with it but I'm going for the sleeper route. Stock nismo muffler FTW. Lol

MB37 12-11-2013 09:14 PM

Haha, I love my Motordyne exhaust. It's a sleeper if you are just cruising around town =P But man does it scream at full throttle. Hopefully I can make it to the next meetup or charity event. You can listen to it at the next meet or whenever we get together next.

SuperDave 12-11-2013 09:26 PM

Here's my current setup, info in my sig. Turn it up and listen!

MB37 12-11-2013 09:29 PM

Wow, sounds WAY different then the last time we met. Can't wait to hear it in person!

Tempestz 12-11-2013 10:16 PM

yeah the GTHAUS ypipe and mid pipe open up the exhaust note very well. I miss it already… but for my plans i need quiet. I'm glad someone near has it now, so i can drool when i hear it

Cbtech 12-11-2013 10:57 PM

Will have them up in the next couple of days. Delays due to new desktop computer and I am still loading up programs to down size the 4mb photos and then upload to Google Picaso. I have not even looked at the videos on the IPad that Patrick took, that will be another feat uploading them to uTube.

Soon guys

Finally I won't be the only one sporting the LED front bumper =D I was contemplating getting a whole Motordyne setup, but I might get a HFC instead. For when the time comes to smog, at least I won't have to worry about tail pipe readings =P

Yeah, I wish there were more lips for the 2013. I don't really like the CarbonSignal one and I'm on the fence with the Varis one.
