My favorite shot and you got it with our caravan crossing the bridge. I think the blue car on the bridge is either TongMan’s Z34 or Juan’s G35. You can probably see me and my copilot standing on the rails at the far end of the bridge taking photos.

Thanks Jim for the great shot.

Curtis, My oil temp also hit 260 on that part of the run but from what I've read limp mode does not kick in until 280 degrees.

The incline was steep and I was in 4th gear and after about four turns and allot of incline I noticed my oil temp was one hash mark away from LIMP mode (260 degrees). Shifted the 5th gear and prayed I would make it to the top and hope it would cool down on the downward spiral to the canyon floor where the double bridge was located.

I made it, but was VERY disappointed in the oil temp. I have been hearing of oil temp rising in Los Angles traffic at rush hour and just out climbing small mountains. I have all along intended on getting an oil cooler, now I just confirmed it not only in my Z34 but also my bro’s red Z34 also climbed to near limp mode. The incline was not even that steep, it was gradual but a fast gradual if you know what I mean. Probably about a 6% incline in about 2 miles.

The blue Z34 is Tong's (TongMan)

Good to know I had some reserve on the oil temp gauge. Oil cooler still in the works.

Did anyone in the outlaws group shoot any video? I coined the 6 that missed the photo stop "the outlaws".

I nominate 80 coming out of Truckee as the roughest freeway in California. I know times are tough but gravel on dirt would be better then that.

+1
I could not believe the pitted road for about 5 miles. It was so bad I had to turn the music up very loud to deafen the road noise.

As it turned out the next day my front end was plastered with giant squashed bugs. I washed it down and found my paint on the front grill had chipped (the size of dime) in a stress spot near the fang. At first I thought it was a bug that had toxic guts that ate thru my paint. Then I looked at some photos I had taken priot to the wash and there was no bugs in the chipped spot. So the wash pulled the paint from stress and I could only think it was the hammering of I-80 in that 5 mile stretch. Oh well you cannot see it unless really looking for it. I will get repaired and recovered with Venture Shield.

Slow on the pix, due to issues with my photobucket account. So I will be using a new server to host my pix - Picaso.

May have to put off the pix until after the Brunch Casino Run. Sry guys. I will try and to post up some teaser pix.

My co pilot and very good photographer was just accepted to some fancy Art school in San Francisco, dropped off his pix and they are astounding.

One of our good friends Bill Newcomb shot and edited some great onboard video. It's a long video but worth the wait. I could not believe the scenery and sky; it really described A Day in The Sierra's. Thanks Bill for an awesome job!
