Fairfield Caravan

Fairfield caravan sing up list and meet up from bay area caravans.

i propose meetin up at the back of Wal Mart parking lot (300 Chadbourne Road, Fairfield, CA 9453) around 8am to roll out to the meet at 830am.

if you're coming off 80E just take the CA-12 E exit toward Rio Vista/Suisun City. Then keep right at the fork, follow signs for Fairfield Auto Mall/Chadbourne Rd. Turn right at Chadbourne Rd. Turn left at the first light. Wal Mart's lot will be right on your left.

2nd thoughts Mike? I would not blame you for bailing out, it was a good effort. It is a long drive just to the starting location. No flaming here. I have come to realize that ALL bay peeps stay in their own backyard and it's a shame as they do not know what they are missing east of the bay. Mark made the journey last month and had a great time, granted it was a lot closer (Davis area).

I know that these guys are from the bay area, it's just that they are on other forums.

This just in from an email I received from a participant.

"The trip along the Feather River should be pretty spectacular as the river is flowing over 6,300cfs into Oroville Lake today. If we get some hot weather the flow could increase".

Last year we were lucky that we out ran the thunder showers. This year since the date was pushed farther into June by three weeks so thunder showers should not be of concern. The level of the river? Well let's just say if you are not careful you could be skimming the surface of the river, like a flat stone being skipped….j/k.

mjch3n (Mike) I totally understand from your post, before the edit, if you cannnot find anyone to make the run with you on such a long distance. Last year people that make the journey had a great time, and it will be just as fun this year with the river running so high.

I will continue to rally people in your area from the other forums to start up a caravan. Sometimes these caravans start at the last minute. If you decide not to come along, you might want to consider the July 10 run which is closer to the bay area. :tup:

Tips on things to bring

• 2 way radios
• Water
• Energy bars
• Camera, extra memory card and batteries.
• A fully charged cel phone
• Preferred currency to pay for lunch and dinner = CASH
• Absolutely no ATM cards.
• A light jacket
• Parka rain jacket
