Feather River Run - June 26 2010 - 2nd Annual - ZONC Event
6\27\10 the day after. Pics start on page 4.
http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...herriver_7.jpg This ZONC event is open to ALL responsible drivers that would like to join ZONC on this run and have some fun. You don’t need a Z, or be a member to participate. I am pleased to announce our Second Annual: A Day in the Sierra’s. I choose the Feather River Canyon for its beauty and just an all out fun road to drive. Difficulty of driving skills: med to light. Enjoy the breathtaking scenic criss cross over the Feather River along the beautiful roads carved through the granite canyon. In all of my travels on a motorcycle and now sports car this stretch of highway is my favorite. The highway connects to other greater highways heading north, but we are keeping on a southern route this time. The road is maintained very well by Cal Trans and provides some of if not the best sweepers in the Sierra’s. This run is not a spirited run, we are out to have fun and be safe. Come out for a Day in the Sierra’s, the route is rated one of the best roads in California. Curtis One of the highlights of the run! We plan to get a group shot crossing the bridge. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...4_FRC_0003.jpg Oroville Dam http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...b/Oroville.jpg Here is a link to last years event. ^ Welcome, and feel free to start a caravan list on this thread for the Bay Area folks. I am sure there will be some ZONC members coming over from the Bay Area. They may not visit this forum but are on one of the other forums this run is posted on. I can hook you up with them once I get confirmations.
I will update the sign up list soon with all the names gathered from all the forums. |

Hey, Bay Area peeps...all you that went on the Half Moon Bay GTG/Run, where are you??? Let’s return the props for the Sac peeps that made it out on the bay area run by signing up for either this run or the shorter more close to home run (see link below).
http://www.the370z.com/northern-cali...essa-napa.html There will be a closing cap on the number of cars that will be allowed to go. So instead of sitting on the fence and maybe missing out, sign up now and make the commitment. Keep in mind these runs are posted on several forums and daily, more peeps are signing up. |

1.) mjch3n - east bay (alameda) 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.) 6.) 7.) 8.) 9.) 10.) Feel free to suggest meet-up places. I'll figure out time as the date approaches a little more and we have more people. If all works out, it'll be South Bay meets up first, drives up, meets with East Bay Caravan and then we meet up with North Bay and head up to Sac super deep. Lmk, thanks guys. |
I wish I was off that weekend. Boooo.

mjch3n (Mike), welcome back to Norcal from S.D. I am sure once the word gets out more Bay area peeps will come out of the wood works. Hit up ur friday night gtg thread. I will let u know when peeps from other forums sign up that are from the bay area.
the_student (Mark), drats, this run is the grand daddy run of the year. Maybe you can make the July 10 run I just posted. Not the same adrenaline but a close second. |

I posted your caravan post over on my350z thread
|
This just in from an email I received from a participant.
"The trip along the Feather River should be pretty spectacular as the river is flowing over 6,300cfs into Oroville Lake today. If we get some hot weather the flow could increase". Last year we were lucky that we out ran the thunder showers. This year since the date was pushed farther into June by three weeks so thunder showers should not be of concern. The level of the river? Well let's just say if you are not careful you could be skimming the surface of the river, like a flat stone being skipped….j/k. Sign up list updated on post #2. |
If I can find a caravan I'm down

How long is the cruise? Days?
|
mjch3n (Mike) I totally understand from your post, before the edit, if you cannnot find anyone to make the run with you on such a long distance. Last year people that make the journey had a great time, and it will be just as fun this year with the river running so high.
I will continue to rally people in your area from the other forums to start up a caravan. Sometimes these caravans start at the last minute. If you decide not to come along, you might want to consider the July 10 run which is closer to the bay area. |

I wanna come, but am not 100% positive yet. Can I just show up on the day if I can attend?
