FYI for you south side guys, there's a ZCCW meeting down in Fife tomorrow evening at 7pm at the Warthog BBQ Pit. I probably won't make it to tomorrow's meeting but we're also having a winery tour/drive to the Lake Chelan area this Saturday that I will be going on, check out the link. The route hasn't been sent out yet but it will leave from the Milton area rest stop on northbound I-5 Saturday morning. Details will probably be discussed at the meeting and posted before this weekend if anyone is interested.

Anyone plugged in with anyone in local Ferrari clubs? Spotted 3 Ferraris in cruise mode getting off I-90 into Issaquah this morning. Looked pretty legit, we should consider doing something like I've seen the other regions doing, small cruises and coffee in addition to the larger meets. Just seems like the larger meets tend to be harder to organize, a quick cruise and coffee might be a little easier logistically

Hey Hitorishaggy! Was nice meeting you over at pacific raceways last night. If you read this check my post in the racing section. What was your fastest time? Final for me was 13.7 at 105.7

You ran your car on the drag strip?

Based on our cooler temps and altitude, Pacific Raceways is a good track for fast times……….so I've heard.

I'll be running at the Porsche Club HPDE this Thursday (5/19) from ~8AM till ~4PM. They don't mind visitors.

Just checking in. I am in Issaquah, black 2010 touring sport. So far I have only encountered one 370 on I90, black like mine and a friendly wave.

I will be going to Pacific Raceways on 5/31 for a track day. Anyone else going?

That was me What kind of track day on 5/31? With the Proformance school? I have a good friend who sponsors me into the Porsche HPDE days but would not mind getting some more seat time in. The HPDE days have rules that I think really make sense so I'm curious what other track events are like.

Nice to meet you, FM! It was a great feeling to meet another Z on the road.

The track day on the 31st is Proformance. Come join me!

Proformance does a thoroughly professional job of training and running track days. They have corner monitors, passing zones, full flagging, etc. I am new to this. I did their HPDE training in April. The track was big fun. It costs more than the Porsche club, but Pacific Raceways is a SCCA certified track (one of the very few in the Norhtwest).

I just got my oil cooler installed and I will be swapping my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus for the Potenzas before the event. Even as a newbie I will be interested to see if I feel any difference.

A couple ~easy things that will help (if you haven't done them already).

Change your brake fluid to Dot 4. I use Motul

Change engine oil, trans and diff fluids to something with higher temperature capability. I use Redline for all.

Start with a lower pressure in your tires. They will heat up and get too hard for good traction. And then check your pressures immediately after finishing your session.

I don't think I can make 5/31. (Longevity)

I already changed my brake fluid to DOT 5.1 (AP racing). It isn't teflon but it has an even higher boiling point than DOT 4. DOT 5 is teflon and will not work with ABS, 5.1 is miscable with DOT 3, 4, etc.

The Proformance team disagrees about underinflation. They say to inflate 20% over manufacturer recommended pressure. For us that is 7 lbs over Nissan's recommended pressure of 35psi. I am running at 42 psi all around.

I am using Esther oil. It appears to be good at high temps. By the way, the Michelins barely got warm on the track, not even close to hot. Maybe I am just too slow to really heat them up. Also the Michelins are Z rated. They flex much less than the W-rated Potenzas.

I'm sorry you can't make it on the 31st. Maybe one of these days we can get together.
