This past weekend, I worked on a good friends jimmy. He completely blew his stock speakers. So I felt like I had to replace them.

Kenwood head unit
Focal polyglass speakers
metra axxess

I actually switched the tweeter mounting brackets. The left went to the right and right went to the left. This allowed the tweeters to be aimed just a tad of axis.

Today was a simple sub and amp integration into the factory system of a VW R32.

Battery

Fuse block ran and insulated.

Used the 12 volt plug to wake up the LOC

Powered the LOC from the fuse block

Everything ran

Long story short, the customer contacted me about a year ago to correct what other shops had done. After fixing those issues the customer constantly changed either amps or speakers every month or so. :laugh:

So this is a complete gut and rebuild. Everything is being taken out and re ran or replaced.

The amps will both be on a amp rack above the spare tire. The sub will now be centered in the trunk instead of to the side. Let's begin

Today I setup the tweeter pods, and did the first layer of resin.

Made tweeter rings

Glued into place

First time doing the tweeter pods, so I did get some sag. Was not able to stretch it out.

Because the door panels have been taken off so many times; I replaced all the panel pins.

Hi matt, I have a 2012 370 z and im putting in a pioneer z130bt, I have read every thead a bunch of times since thursday and nobody gives an exact location or pic.where to find the car speed signal input,they do tell and show a pic. where to find the reverse gear signal input.the only thing talked about was that it is yellow and in the 18 pin hole but that does not help much if it is really correct. can you help? thank you bill ......

Bill, the reverse wire would be located in the rear of the car on the left side, there are usually 3 orange wires located in the harness, check for 12 volt with a volt meter on them while in reverse. That is the one you need. As far as the speed sensor sorry I am not much help as I have never connected them.

Today I built and dry fitted the amp rack together. Going to have to build a new false floor as the amp rack comes to the height of the floor already.
