Its all b.s. its gonna blow right by and everythings gonna go right back to normal. Its gonna be as bad as hurricane earl i think

I really hope so. Im hoping for the best but still preparing for the worst.

Well, it is about 1:20am reporting in about 10 miles west of Annapolis. Worst parts of Irene have passed, only light rain from now till 6am. Power didn't even go out in my area. Had some strong gusty winds but no downed trees or branches for that matter. Hope everyone else makes it out lucky like I did.

Fortunately Annapolis and DC got spared the full brunt of the storm. Ocean City took more of a hit.

NYC/Long Island is up now. Good luck folks.

slightly NW of Washington DC... no issues here except moderate rain. now over.

Looks like the worst is over. A few trees near me are knocked down and a lot of people without power, but it looks like the damage isn't too bad.

Only casualy of Irene in my area, dumb kids in GM pickup truck got stuck in the mud in a cornfield right next to my house at 1AM. Why did they purposely get out of the road in the first place? Only they know. They were wet, pissed off and jumping on the flatbed to give the truck some traction. I had a great laugh when 3 police cars showed up to give them the lesson of the year right from their police cruisers. The truck is still stuck in the mud with 200 feet of tracks when they were trying to get back to the road but couldn't :icon17:

^ Hahaha that is great Bert. Just some leaves on the ground I will have to sweep by later out of my driveway. Other than that didn't even lose power.

This is what comes to mind when I think of Hurricane Irene:
