I had a whole thread on it... Basically a week after Irene, a tree fell on my car, and some other crazy things happened. There was denting all around the roof and hatch, broken tail light, and some other body work that needed to be done... around like 6k worth of damages, and 3 weeks time to fix.

What happened last night to my car

hahah i'm not sure about what i posted the other day. its a 2008 CPO 335xi coupe fully loaded. Monaco Blue/coral red.

Here's a shot of the color scheme (not the actual car)... A little over the top, haha, but i can't be too picky with color scheme its been really hard to find this car with the options i want in CPO. I initially wanted black with some sort of brown.... this is a far cry from that but i really like it Although i'm sure its pretty much a love it or hate it color combo.

pretty blue, a little too bright red on the interior for me though

although i really cant comment on the interior given the bright red exterior of my vehicle

If yours has that OEM sport package and you plan on swapping out the springs...I'll take the OEMs off your hands.

I have a 335xi Coupe too. Alpine White/Saddle Brown. iDrive. Logic 7. Paddles. Heated Seats. iPod Dock. Basically, every single option except the sport suspension.

Already bought a few mods for it. Looking for a nice drop, figured it'd be best to go the OEM route. But, I might drop it on Eibachs for the time being. It's my girlfriend's daily and we love it to bits and pieces. She wants a bit more power, but I'd prefer to keep the modding conservative so I'll likely get the JB+, since it's inexpensive but still adds quite a decent punch and a dual cone intake.

Definitely dying to get rid of these awful runflats - going to upgrade to 18s.

Ah nice, wait so who's car is it, yours or hers? FYI from the resaearch i've done the dual cone intake is actually not really a productive mod

COBB Tuning Blog Tech Tidbit: BMW N54 Stock Air Box vs. DCI

Seems like the most beneficial mods are
1. Tune
2. Front mount intercooler
3. Downpipes

what year is it?

just get jb4, lol... I thought you were a fan of the flashes? I jumped into jb4 right away but after reading cobb stage 2 and the giac stage 2 are def good alternatives. but I have no regrets with jb4.... there meth integration is exactly what I need/want to be able to get this thing over 400 whp... the n54 and I'm sure the n55 is a beast that is insanely tunable... its pretty much the polar opposite of my Z in a ton of aspects though, lol...

I love the damn car already though...

Also, I am not sure about your cars shocks, and being new prob helps , but my buddy who had a 135i and sold it for a 335xi like yours b/c of baby on the way, said the only mod he regretted was the eibach springs as it made his ride suffer more than he desired...

I have been looking at the various suspension mods you can do from spring and shock combos(one with swifts I am interested in but i have NO idea what compression i want or w/e it is you can select, theres a bunch of spring rates and i have no idea what any of them mean)

H and R has a spring/shock combo for my car for around 700 and you can get KW1s for 1200... Id love to drop mine too but I dont want to have to do anything twice..

On a side note, I will try to come down next week, tomorrow I am busy...

Yea i think the car handles really nice stock and its comfortable. granted, the gap up front on the XI is a bit much, but whatever. i dont want to mess with the dynamics of the car

It's her car, a 2008. But ask me who's put more mileage on it...hahaha. She was near me when I wrote that post too so I like messing with her by telling her its my car: "give me the keys to my car", "where are my keys"?, "did you wash my car?" etc. Hahaha. I'm the one who spent months looking for it, and I picked it up from the dealer. Plus we may be living together soon anyways.

Anywho, I've thought about downpipes and the like, it's just a huge warranty risk. They're so easy to see, and if the dealer sees they aren't OEM they will almost immediately refuse to do any work on the car at all. Not worth the hassle. I'd rather get a light tune for just a little extra power and hope that the RWD module is completed before this winter ends. xDrive has a RWD mode that can be easily accessed by pulling a fuse.

Yeah, I'm still leaning my options. Though I've always heard it's the H&Rs that are crazy stiff and the Eibachs that are soft with a minimal drop that's less than 1-inch. In any case, stuff like JB4 is too extreme for me. The more I hang out with the BMW guys and around the forums, the more I see how quickly the cars develop problems after aggressive tunes. So the JB+ makes more sense to me, it'll net 330-340WHP and 375TQ - and that to me is fantastic. Plus, it can be uninstalled in about 5 minutes and there is very, very little concern with reliability.

Btw, N55 isn't tunable at all compared to the N54. People complain the most they can squeeze out of that single is 360WHP.
