Default Pricing - Leaked ?

https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2...4CB130FFDEC2CC

Starts at 35K, plus two packages at 5K each

New Z Car, New Price
The price for all this sporty goodness is apparently $34,995, at least to start—that undercuts other sporty machines like the all-conquering (front-wheel-drive) Civic Type R and the (also rear-wheel-drive) Toyota Supra 3.0, the Z's primary rival. The Type S and Type T packages will cost around $5,000 each, and Type ST cars will combine both options and set you back around $45,000. We reached out to Nissan to see if they would confirm any of the leaked info to us, but no dice.

My guess it'll start at $40k-$43k base (Supra 2.0 $$), and top out at $55k (Supra 3.0 Top End). AND THEN, let's not forget the Dealer d*ck to the price tag, so launch models will probably be $70k.

These dealers have no shame; saw a new 2021 CTR for $65k ($20k "Market Adjustment"
) at the local Hendrick Honda

The ADM thing concerns me too. Some people don't think the Z35 will sell well, possibly true. But still, dealers are jerks and will put an ADM on this car whether or not it is a hot seller.

I've been saving money for this car, I wouldn't be surprised if by the time I can get one at or below MSRP I'll have saved enough to just buy it outright. I'll probably be shut out from buying one for at least a year, I will never pay above MSRP for a depreciating asset!

Yea, I would just wait till end of the first year when the BS market adjustment has dropped and try and find a new one then. That's how I saved over $9k on my new S4; paid $54k for $65k option, and my cousin paid $52k for an A4 at the beginning of the same year.

Plus, not worth putting so much $$ down on car. Wait for 0% interest or no ADM, and minimal down and use the rest of saved up money to invest.

for that price, you can just finance a $80k gtr and call it a day. But then again, there are idiots who will pay $60k for the new Z. They will later regret it when a year has passed and people will be buying them for less than $40k

And at that point, i'd wonder on over to the Toyota dealership to get a 3.0 Supra because it's a Toyota with better resale value and newer tech. Or i just wait a decade and pick up both used. One will be a clapped out POS with melting dash, failed CSC, etc while the other was probably garage kept in a wine cellar and has a faint smell of mothballs mixed with old time money. Who am I kidding. I'll keep the Z, die, and let you heathens part it out. More money in the parts than the damn car is worth at this point.

Ummmm.....you mean BMW?

I have seen exactly ZERO BMW Supras in the Seattle area. Doesn't seem to be selling very well, not sure if it's because of being a "BMW" or various other factors...factors that may also affect the Z35....

Used (and new) car prices are ridiculous lately.

I bought my Q60 (used) a few years ago and found that it's KBB resale value in 2021 is the same as it was when I researched that car in 2018. I only use KBB as a reference for pricing trends.

I probably should just sell the car now while the gettin's good, but who knows when the new Z is going to be available?

the problem is that in two years the value of the us dollar will be 30%to 40% less and the yen will remain somewhat static .the usa debt is going through the roof and will only get worse.so a base z might be in the 60k /70k range and dealers wont rush to put them in there inventory.
