I'm still stuck on that rendering.
That's the closest to a Pontiac Aztek the Z has ever gotten. I cannot unsee it. |

That front grill kills it.

Nissan needs to fire their head designer. With each passing year they are making their cars look more and more cartoonish.
That rendering is absolutely terrible. It has no Z like qualities and doesn't even look like a sports car. |
Nissan is facing some serious competition in this segment, now with the new upcoming 2016 Miata, Alpha Romeo 4C, GTI-R, Civic Type R, Boxter GTS among many others.
They really need something very very interesting. Just like when they introduced the Z32 TT. |

They pioneered synchro rev matching. C'mon Nissan, give us gold. Again.

One of the things I like best about the 15+ NISMO is how it has the GT-R vibe from the DRL's and accents.
Nissan needs to do that more, as well as have some more overall developmental synergy between the Z35 and R36. The Z would work well as a NA 2-seat RWD cheaper variant of the TT 4-seat AWD GT-R. |

The Next Generation Z Car
The 370Z is in its seventh model year so Nissan has to be thinking about the future of the Z car. So, there have been all kinds of rumors out there about what the next Z will be. The latest thing I've read from June '15 is that they want to go down market and try to compete with the Miata, FRS, BRZ and get back to the affordable sports car that was the original Z concept. This would mean dropping the weight and engine size, probably using the Joke's (er, I mean Juke's) 1.8L 4-cylinder with a turbo to make around 200 HP. I'm wondering what this forum thinks about a lighter, cheaper, less powerful platform, or, do you think Nissan should slap in a V8 or Turbo V6 and go up with more muscle? I was kinda hoping to see a 450Z myself. :stirthepot:
