Nissan has always named the Z based on engine displacement. Either the artical has it wrong (likely) or the next Z will have a 3.9 liter engine. Do they have a current engine that could be punched out to that? The 3.8 in the GT-R perhaps? The 3.0 twin turbo makes more sense but then it would be a 300Z.

300z sounds nice and it would be accurate if it has the vr30dett

I think that "400Z" sounds much better.

Actually, it may just be called the "380z" and use the Q50, Q60 and GTR VR38DETT engine. I don't see why they would design a unique engine just for the Z

You're right. The Q uses the VR30DDTT.

The avatar matching is a happy accident.

Odd they aren't stepping up theIr game at least on the power front. Makes the 9 year old 370z seem surprisingly competitive (still).

Today, Motorauthority,Com is claiming the new Supra will have a manual and a turbo v6 pushing out ~ 400 hp. Nice. Hope Nissan feels compelled to beat the competition with the next Z.

I love all the talk of what it will be called... WHO CARES haha, I shaved my 370z badge off and when people ask I tell them its a Z...

The motor already exists so HP perspective is pretty easy to guesstimate. Its a 400hp TT motor... If we go off from previous G/Z platforms the Z will typically have the same or slightly more power and weigh less than a G/Q.

I guessed Nissan would be releasing a TT V6 a VERYYYY long time ago.

THat being said my guess (which has been good so far) is
Base Z 2.0T 300ish hp
Sport Z 3.0TT V6 400-410hp
Nismo 3.0TT V6 465hp

Look back at this once its released :)
Also if you look back to my posts years ago I was almost exactly the same before we even knew about these Engines... Maybe I am good at guessing OR.... Top Secret haha
