Thread has been derailed. I was trying to find information on the Z35 but after 189 pages, I am more lost than ever... :bowrofl:

In the absence of new info on a 370Z replacement this conversation is just fine while we wait...

I find the thread accurately represents Nissan's train of thought on the development of the Z35... even up to the post that says "maybe I just need a Miata instead."

Doesn't all of those "bells&whistles" just add weight to a sports car anyway? And when driving said sports car (not pony car), do you really want all of those distractions?

It looks like they're aping the original AC Cobra.

You don't want distractions, buy a race car that's street legal. You want a car that's fast but still has creature comforts? You buy a proper modern sports car.

Now that we know there's an actual Supra test mule, we should start placing bets now on whether the Z35 will be (1) based on the Q/G, like the last few iterations, or (2) a totally new platform like Nissan once hinted at, but has yet to show us.

I'm placing my bet on #1. Either way, I will definitely be cross shopping between the Z and the Supra, unless Toyota screws the pooch and tries to stick a 55+ K price tag on their new super Celica.

Has Nissan not learned anything from the pricing issues with the 300ZX?

Bro, it's likely going to be $75k plus. Hell, this isn't even a Toyota product. It's going to be a coupe version of the BMW Z5, it's sister car.

Too6Z 11-29-2016 06:06 PM

Well for that price they can keep it.
