However, I have also read that Nissan may not build another Z simply because of lack of profits and demands, especially if we hit recession in the near future.

Nissan already said, THERE WILL BE BOTH A NEW Z N GTR.

If a recession hit, you'll be reading about what they're doing with Z's in Japan vs owning one and doing it yourself.

Changing subject...

How Nissan can make a $60K Z? This is how!!

Nissan SPECIFICALLY stated they want to make a lighter car specifically reminiscent of the original 240z.

So if anything was to fall through the cracks in rumors or speculations. It would be likely the z would be a 4banger only and would start under $30k. The next Z if I speculated. The 4 banger will be between 2,800-2,900lbs. n the turbo 6 if they even make it would be 3,000-3,100lbs...

Let's say they build a topline, Nismo is 450HP, it would most likely be the model that is 3,100lbs. It would have a 6.8lb power to weight ratio vs the corvettes 7.3.

So if we're trumping up numbers of the top of our head. The Z would would win. Especially if the Z remains, hydraulic with a handbrake. The corvette would quickly become obsolete. It would be the most driver focused car because it will be the only analog car with a personality. While all the others will have numb electric steering.

For one you are NOT my bro, and two I did not realize they would advertise an LFA with a Toyota badge and Supra on the plate. Thanks for trying though, peace.

I don't think people would pay $60K for a Nissan outside of a GT-R, and I don't think Nissan will test that theory.

But we'll see.

For the top of the line Z35 it will almost be 60k.

Prove it.

So far this is just you and some other guy backing up each other's claims that it will be $60K with zero basis in fact.

Link me to a press release from Nissan.

Some of y'all are funny, the Z is not a luxury car like the Q50/Q60 so I don't know why some of you are comparing pricing between the 2....

It is definitely not an LFA. I has a lot of FT1 in it, but there are differences as well. If those are photoshop differences or not I couldn't say.

In any case I only posted them together as I saw a lot of design similarities between that one and the Z rendering directly above it.

Dirk McGurck 07-15-2016 10:36 PM

No, the Z rendering has a taper tail, like the 240Z. That Toyota 'shop fail has a wider wedged ***.

brucelidat 07-16-2016 12:00 AM

my next car will probably be a z35, supra or if I want something a bit more 'luxury', a q60 (possibly used)

Davey 07-16-2016 06:07 AM

The clickbait garbage article about the turbo hybrid powertrain $60K 2017 Z in the OP of the other thread must have fooled them and they are too stubborn to admit they were wrong.

I won't be too stubborn to admit I was wrong when Nissan comes out with a $60K Z, but I am pretty sure I won't have to because Nissan is not so stupid as to price the Z high enough to make the competition that much more attractive.

I have to agree with you on this one. The "next supra" is a highly anticipated car (and of course we don't know when this is coming) the Z35 will happen as Nissan already said there will be a new Z and new GTR. It's just a matter of waiting.

You fvcked up when you used the word "WILL". All this shyt here is speculation. All of it. The thread title is $60K for a Z based on information in the "rumor mill". The other guy I guess is me, only CREATED A SCENARIO where this would be probable. Considering all the body bracing and track bits that underpin a Nismo. Considering an estimated 3,100lb weight that would be lighter than a better up to 300lbs depending on packaging and the arena that Z would be competing against if it existed. M4, Jaguar F-Type S. Porsche Cayman R Corvette Grand Sport, BMW/Z4/possible Z5, The upcoming Supra, Alfa Romeo 4c and Fiat 124.

Problem here is everyone wants to believe the Z can't go upmarket when in fact it can if they make an affordable 4 banger for the whiners and a high powered premium handling car for the winners. They corner the market by offering to the successful and the broke azz alike. Just like CAMARO & MUSTANG DO! I don't see why some of you complicate these concepts so much.
