Safe mode. Think I know the answer.

My GTM stage 2 stock block with ECM flash @ 8 psi passive went into safe mode yesterday. I unplugged the battery reset the system, and is working perfectly again.

Default Safe mode. Think I know the answer.

My GTM stage 2 stock block with ECM flash @ 8 psi passive went into safe mode yesterday. I unplugged the battery reset the system, and is working perfectly again.

Issue:

My old G35 with vortech SC was doing the same thing, but this time it kept going in to safe made, so I had the throttle body replaced ($600 BTW) to fix the issue.

How often does this safe mode happen with the VQ37HR under boost?

and

It's it usually the same part that goes bad. VQ35DE was have issues after XXX amount of miles when boosted, and MAF/Throttle body was always being replaced. My G35 went through two of them after 20k miles of boost.

Any advice would be helpful.

my theory is, since these Hitachi throttle bodies are so sensitive to manual actuation of the flap even when disconnected from the car, the rush of pressurised air might be strong enough to move the flap just enough to make it think the ECU has lost control over the flap - as in the flap is moving beyond its intended position.

check your throttle maps too - run the stock one for a bit and see if the fault persists
