TSB for 370Z stuck hatch came out today

Went to the dealer for maintain service and was told that Nissan just came out an TSB the sticky hatch problem.
The dealer is ordering a new set of springs for me at no charge.

My dealer called today and informed me of the TSB and that my parts were ordered.

I might stop by a dealership, can I go to any dealership (the one I bought my Z from is 45 minutes away)?

I just got back from having my car serviced and talked to them about the issue. At first, the tech told me he could not reproduce the problem. So when I got my car back, I talked briefly with the Service Consultant, and he told me that there was a TSB available and that I will have the replacement parts next week. Woohoo. Let me see if I can get the TSB from him. Maybe there is some hope for this issue!

I had mine done at a different dealer.

Sounds good, never really have had to deal with service departments, so hoping this is something I can just walk in on them, ask about it and leave after they order it.

Yep, just don't back down. Now that the TSB is out (so it seems) it should be easy.

Hey guys, I just asked my service consultant to fax over the TSB. The Classification number is BT10-004 and the Reference number is NTB10-014. AS stated before, the part number is 84415-1EA1E. Hope that helps.

So, if we take all that info to the svc dept, they should be able to order the parts and let us go on our merry way?

That should be the case. One note though. On the TSB, it states that the applied dates are for "Vehicles built before Obtober 6, 2009". Just a heads up.

But the penny trick can still fail, this is an official fix from Nissan and only takes a bit of time in the end. I really do not have time to mess with it, but I stopped by tonight to talk to Nissan dealership and all the techs were gone. They filled out all the paperwork and have the last two springs in stock with a reserve tag with my name on them for 8AM tomorrow. Drop my car off and they said tops of one hour to fix it.

The 2 Penny trick works fine for me, when the weather is warmer outside. But.. on the cold nights, it still fails :-(. Oh wells, I should have new springs next week. Good luck guys!
