Default 2012 370z Sport Package M6 issue

The other day I was driving aggressively. Going from 3rd to 4th the car assumed I meant 2nd and threw the RPM 7000 for a few seconds till I shook the gear shift and put it into 4th.

Anyone else had this problem? Did I sustain any engine damage?

Well figuring the engine redline is 7500 no you did not cause any damage. You must have put the car closer to 2nd then 4th for it to do that, the SRM is a pretty sophisticated system that normally only acts up with user error.

Default I did put it a hair closer to 2nd

I was worried about 7000RPM w/o a load for a few seconds. Its a pretty good system but not forgiving for slight user error.

Well what some people forget is its still a regular manual tranny. Just cause it has all those sensors you can still mess things up.
