I'd have them check the charging system. Batteries usually last longer than 2.5 years. I've never had one last less than 5 years -- Z might be tough on batteries though ...

If you go through long stretches of not driving it, invest in a battery tender trickle charger. This goes a long way to helping battery life (and preventing no starts) on those types of vehicles. I have been using one for years on the motorcycle and the previous roadster prior to picking up the ZR which will see it a bit this winter

my OEM battery on the frontier lasted about a year and a half. i chalk it up to my after market HID's that kept deep cycling the battery when i turned them on that killed it. i put in a deep cycle battery and it lasted 4 years or so, just replaced it this spring

my Z is on battery manager (tender) during the weekdays since she is my weekend hobby car. that said, the battery is in very healthy condition.

my G who has been with me since day one in 2004 is still on original battery and cranking hard. i think most battery fatigue happen from short-distance driving or excessive heat. i put her on battery tender on the weekends since i dont use the car and use my Fit to go to the stores.

my commute is about a 22-23mile round trip. not enough to have a full charge as the battery manager takes about 2hrs to get to float. if i hook up my Z to the battery manager immediately after driving for 50 miles or so on my weekend drive, the battery floats within 5-10min. big difference.

Default What's a good battery charger

Sounds like if you live up north, or only drive the Z on weekends, a good battery "maintainer" is a sound investment. Anyone have a good brand/type recommendation for the Z. I've been reading that it needs to be able to charge and then float the battery to keep it in good shape with either sporadic driving or only short drives.
