any time i dont drive the car for more than a few days i plug them in. my G will go 12yrs on stock battery next year. no issue. i dont plan on replacing the battery any time soon.

Still running the OEM battery on my Dec 2008 built 09 base with sport package, 60,000 miles. Been having weak starts that barely turned over so now's pretty much the time for a new one.

I bought my 2009 370z used in 2014 so it was on its 2nd Nissan battery according to records. then I just bought a new Nissan battery in Oct 2016. I crank the car almost every day so it must be the subwoofer and stereo draining it. :driving:

I bought my 2011 in May 2011. It's been a daily driver the past three years. I have 58K miles and still on original battery. It reads 12.8V on the cars meter, with car on but not running. I think it is getting close to end.

I swapped mine last January;due to it being 5yrs. old & needed one for lawnmower. I did notice it cranking the engine a tad slower & when i put that Red-Top Optima in,,,,no comparison. |
the battery is fine as long as you dd long enough distance/time to keep the charge near full.
my 2010 original battery is still working well. not a dd, but I hook it up to the battery tender once a month to top the battery off. Quote:

^^ smart. also check the water level once a yr or every 2 yrs especially in hot climates. open the caps one by one and shine a flash light to see if u can spot the water reflect a ( ) .

I added distilled water at need... battery on current Z lasted ~40K miles then just crapped out. Replaced with non-maintenance battery.
On my first one, I crashed it with the original battery still going strong (at least as far as I can recall) at about 55K. |
My battery went last month while parked. Tried recharging but wouldn't hold. Got it replaced under warranty. Wife's Maxima battery lasted maybe twice as long, but she was driving it. I believe both cars use the same battery.

Recently had to replace at 78k. 6 years 8 months.

I was amazed either of my Z's batteries held as long as they did. In general, I've never had a battery last more than 3 years while living in FL. |
I'm coming up on 5 years with OEM battery next month. It's now starting to seem weaker than normal. When starting the car the voltage gauge is usually somewhere around 15 making me think it's not holding a charge as good. Will likely buy a new battery soon. Better safe than sorry. :driving:

My car is 2010 and the original battery died this morning. I knew Nissans are not reliable, but my car wouldn't even start! Gonna trade it in for a Yaris and never look back!

dose in hot climates check ur water levels more frequently..

In any case Optimas aren't what they used to be. They completely hanged their production when they were bought out some years ago now - and I don't mean changed it for the better. |
2011 w/12.5K original battery died last Friday. 6 years w/ battery tender during off season

2010. Original battery gave way during this winter storage. Upon taking it out, it was bulged and frozen internally.
Replaced with an Exide AGM 24F battery. Tiny bit larger than the group 35, but has higher CCA and fits perfectly in the tray. Paid $150. http://www.ruralking.com/media/catal...p-agm24fds.jpg |
My OEM died last week...but I am pretty sure I killed it myself by running it empty over the christmas holidays... it got significantly weaker after that and stopped holding a charge past 2 days.
Picked up and installed a walmart Maxx yesterday with a 5 year warranty. |

Just replaced the battery in my 2010 Roadster with an Interstate Battery from Costco. Price was $73.99 plus tax.
640 CCA. (800 Cranking amps) I believe the warranty is 48 months. Quite the deal I think. And thanks to whoever posted the instructions on how to remove the battery (unfortunately I cannot find the post now) Not sure if a novice like me could have figured that out on my own. ;) |
