How do they figure an engine light code issue won't be covered under warranty? As suggested, call and file a complaint and make sure to keep a record of trips

How do they figure an engine light code issue won't be covered under warranty? As suggested, call and file a complaint and make sure to keep a record of trips to the dealer. Documentation along with official notification is key if you need to eventually move forward under the lemon law. I am sure if you get Nissan involved it will get sorted, but get your records in order just in case.
