Default Stripped Screw on Door Handle

Ok, so i was removing my door handles to paint them. The driver side came off no problem, however the passenger side door was a different story. The screw holding the plate that holds the lock in place was completely stipped.

It would be impossible to take this out with a screw driver. Any ideas how to remove this screw?

Thanks in Advance

Another option could be a screw removal kit.

However, if they put too much sticky chemical on the screw, it might not come out.

When I replaced my accelerator pedal, the bolts were in so tight that I sheared the heads off of them and they were recessed. Then with a proper screw removal kit and drill, they were stuck in so bad that the bits broke in the removal process.

I eventually had AAM look at it. They left those bolts as they were and drilled new holes and ordered new bolts to keep my accelerator down.

Nightmare. 150 dollar pedals cost me 600 bux.

But you might want to look at a screw removal kit or ask a garage (with a machining shop) to take a look at it.

If there is a lot of Loc-tite on them, you may want to try heating it up with a torch also. I have to use that trick quite a bit on my bike.

Not sure how close we're talking but you could try a soldering gun.

go to your hardware store and look for easy outs. sears hardware has them for sure cause i have a few sets.

you drill a hole into the stripped screw head. then you put the easy-out in there..bascially a drill bit with a reverse direction blade. screws out.
