Roadster antenna

Has anyone removed the antenna from the roadster, just for appearance sake and to avoid vandalism? Not the base, just by unscrewing the mast like the owners manual says you can?

I'm wondering if it would impact radio reception (including XM).

Will only affect AM-FM. The hump underneeth is for your satalite. Buy a shorty antenna like this you will like it and reception is fine.
