anyone feel twitchy after they dropped the car??

Fire 05-24-2011 11:31 AM

Thanks guys, I recieved a plaque. No I'm not going to take it to every show after this to show that I won something before. I hate that LOL. Jazz my car does not feel twitchy after the drop. I might feel twitchy as I see large potholes infront of me or something lying in the road.

jazz 05-25-2011 08:24 AM

when i hit the on/off ramps at 90 it feels twitchy.

jazz 05-25-2011 09:13 AM

do you think i need to go firmer...it is a bit soft i guess.

Fire 05-25-2011 01:58 PM

Do you have sways? You might want to go with adjustble stiffer sways and shocks if you feel like it is rising then loosing traction. To me twitchy sounds too stiff though. Hard to diagnose here. Need to give a person with susp. tuning experience a ride in your car to tell for sure what to do.

jazz 05-25-2011 02:21 PM

I have it all swaybars, coilover, control arms!

Fire 05-25-2011 02:37 PM

Jazz I would start by doing simple adjustments. Test each one to see what makes the car feel best. Adjust what can be done without taking the car out of alignment first. I almost forgot to ask. You did get the car aligned after your mods right? Dumb question but one that need to be asked.

jazz 05-25-2011 02:49 PM

i had it done within 50km. i have to drop the rear shocks to adjust them, cant do them with them in the car. it seems to have lots of rebound(give) its nice and smooth just putting around...its when im on it seems to jitter(?) in the bends! think im going to go 80% hard all the way around then try it. this weekend or next see how much time i have to play with it. it a lot of work grrr

Fire 05-25-2011 03:03 PM

Jazz you should move you coilover thread to the susp. tech area. I'm sure people that post there can help you. You have alot of adjustment possible with your sways and coil overs. Hope you get it worked out as a twitchy car doesn't let you enjoy the driving much.

Fire 05-25-2011 03:18 PM

Do you have a Firestone service shop in your area? I don't. They have a lifetime alignment that people have used. They do adjustments and realignments all the time and they only pay a one time fee. One guy posted that he had like 10 alignments in a month.

jazz 05-25-2011 03:26 PM

i dont! and the car only fit on the laser alignment at midas grrr

Fire 05-25-2011 03:30 PM

I understand that. I have to pay about $130 for each alignment.

jazz 06-11-2011 12:49 PM

car feels alot better...it might of been wax on the tires still. i did add about 5 lbs in the tires though.

BTW im up to 1021 km lol stop with the rain already!

Dsphoto 06-20-2011 06:28 AM

Just did the uprev tune for 93 octane gas and an oil cooler. 337whp! and 254 ft-lbs torque, and the delivery is smooth and linear! Thank you Performance Auto Sports. Welcome To The Experience | Performance Motorsport 2011'.

jazz 06-20-2011 12:15 PM

id like to see the dyno print off! what type was it on?

Dsphoto 06-20-2011 01:43 PM

Mustang. I will scan it tonight or tomorrow as soon as I have a chance.

Joebarchuck 06-20-2011 07:09 PM

Any convertible with an amuse wing or at least a big wing?

Fire 06-20-2011 10:06 PM

3 Attachment(s)
Don't know if anybody sells a big wing for the vert. This is the Spoiler Solutions factory style wing. I assume you are looking for a cf or fibreglass and not a tuner wing eh?

Joebarchuck 06-21-2011 01:12 PM

I like your spoiler but it won't pull off the amuse back bumper. I love the amuse back bumper but for sure the roadster does not pull it off from the pics I saw and the only reason is because of the angle that the amuse bumper has which is made to increase the angle of the coupe therefore the only way to pull the back amuse bumper off the roadster would be in my opinion to have a large wing such as the amuse wing.

Fire 06-21-2011 05:26 PM

You will probably have to look into "universal" wings. Sorry cannot be alot of help here.

W:tiphat:W good for you!

i should see that number with my build too then.

stillen g2
stillen headers
stillen HFC
HKS CBexhaust
and custom UpRev

Dsphoto 06-22-2011 07:26 AM

The numbers tell only part of the story. The car pulls smoother and is much more responsive across the range. Low and mid range performance are substantially improved far beyond what the peak numbers show. Go for the uprev but make sure the tuner is good. Interaction between the different maps is very complicated. Good software poorly applied will yield less than stellar results.
My two cents.

jazz 06-22-2011 03:25 PM

:tiphat:ya man, i am so happy for you and your numbers! as soon as i get the issues with the car worked out ill be doing some pulls and we can have a dyno race!

Cool. I'll need to buy the 370 first. :) I have a 350 vert, but I'm planning on dedicating it for event use in the next few years, so I'm reading up on the 370 verts. :)

Hey guys, I finally got my rear 20mm spacers on. I will get the fronts (15mm) on in the next week or so. Definatley going to order rear camber kit. Time for tires anyway and I can see the scuff on the inner corners. Here are a couple of shots I took yesterday. I will add some from the back soon.

With the Swifts and the spacers, the car drives like a gokart.

24 Hours of Daytona 2002

Fire 07-13-2011 05:39 PM

Are you in that pic Beach?

BeachZTT 07-13-2011 07:50 PM

Yep, that is me sitting on the car on the left side of the pic next to the guy (my brother) in the red. I got to crew for them that year. I was on the fuel vent on the track side of the car and my brother fueled on the pit side. Amazing experience!

Only missed on stop the whole 24 hours... I went to the bathroom and we cut a tire. I also ran tires back and forth to the tire center to be mounted and balanced.

Check out the link in that post for some of the other pic from the weekend.
