Just added some Rohana's now I need to add spacers. Not sure if I need a camber kit? I ordered one just in case. I'm lowered on eibachs. Anyone know if I'm still in specs or I will I definitely need the camber kit?

Ah, but put a short flipped up skirt on Bouncey's butt and it looks less bad.

Maybe it's just me?

for those with the stillen intakes, how do you clean the airfilters. Mine had them installed when I bought it and other than taking the whole intake apart I cant see how to clean them

You might want to look at these links

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...de-ak370z.html

You could ask your question on this link & probably get an answer there.

I've seen one other Roadster on the road. I've only seen a few Coupes since '12 when I actually started looking for them. Ford sold more Mustangs in February than Nissan has sold 370Z Roadsters to date. Total 370Z sales are less than a year of Mustangs. These are rare cars and I'm ok with that. Nissan probably isn't as happy about it as I am.

I added a spoiler to the back of mine and I think it's a big improvement!!

Looks great, enjoy. Now you need to get rid of that long antenna.

TX370ZVert 07-08-2016 03:44 PM

So what antenna do you suggest? I don't want to lose reception when I'm out on the twisties having fun!!

If you are using AM/FM then you probably will want to keep the original antenna. The smaller ones will give a decrease in reception for AM/FM. If you use satellite then the short ones work fine.

Bummer 07-11-2016 02:46 AM

I have one of the 3" "carbon fiber" antennas. It isn't actually carbon fiber and it isn't actually an antenna. For an antenna to work it has to have a wire, or some form of metal in it. These are just decorative plastic tubes.

I don't tune off of satellite unless I must. I've gotten used to it and when I do have to listen to good old "radio" I tend to twitch. I've ordered a replacement for the 3" antenna, which came apart just above its base. The new one is only about 3/4" long. No bigger than the base of the one I have. It's due here Wednesday. It'll suck as an antenna but it should look good.

So, if you are interested in good looks, go shopping for antennas on fleabay. If you want reception, as OldGuyFla suggested, stick with the OEM.

Your alignment guy will be able to tell you if you're within specs or need the camber kit when they perform an alignment the car. Have you taken your car in for an alignment after you had the springs put on?

I had to put on camber arms, my rear is just out of specs -2.7 rear on both sides (I like how it looks) most important is that toe is in specs. I also put on 15mm spacers on the rear to bring my wheels out to sit pretty much flush.

All good info...not going with XM cause i have an issue with paying for the privilege of listening to music. I'm either using itunes, streaming, or old fashioned radio. Guess I'll be sticking with the OEM.

I have to use satellite due to living way out in the country. before having a radio that could get satellite I had to carry CDs.

I don't believe I can remember too many that didn't get eaten.

Let's see. Catching up...

I can't remember an 8 track that didn't get eaten.

OldGuyFla has 3 years on me. I guess that makes me RelativelyOldGuyIn.

Back to TX370ZVert's antenna question:

I did some experimenting. I actually tuned to my local FM radio station. (I'm over it.) This antenna has better reception than the 3" "carbon fiber antenna" (Quotes because it wasn't really carbon fiber or an antenna.) I had on it before. I can't say how it compares with the stocker. First I'd have to find it...

Anyway, I even think I like the looks of this one better. Less like a hamster in heat and not at all like a walkie-talkie rubber whip.

Hi; I am just getting started. I powder coated my 19 inch rays black light textured. I am waiting for some K&N intakes. I am really trying to figure out exhaust. I am not sure about cat backs or axle back system. I drive all the time with the top down, and don't want it so loud on the freeway, but at the same time, the stock exhaust sound is just unacceptably quiet. Any recommendations?

Wow that looks great, that's even shorter than mine (1.5") I think I saw that one on E-Bay.

Hi

You're looking good! I still have my original exhausts. I'm like you I have my top down all the time & don't want it too loud. So I'm going to leave it the way it is. I don't think mine sounds too bad at all. Not sure if the 10s & 14s are the same or not.

I've had my Fast Intentions cat back system on for 2 months now and am very happy with it. it sounds great top up or down, and not too loud IMO. I went with the 18" resonators which is the quietest option. No other mods to the car yet.

Damn...8-tracks...now there's a trip down memory lane...haven't used one since my '74 homebuilt customized van with the shag carpet all around...

Do you have the source/name/etc for that super stubby? I really like the looks of it especially if the reception is decent.

Bummer 07-20-2016 01:39 AM

Yep OldGuyFla, good eye for an old guy. Straight off of fleabay: Universal Billet Super Short Screw in Antenna Topper 18mm Black | eBay

Keep in mind, TX370ZVert, when it comes to reception "decent" is relative. I live in Indianapolis and didn't test it going cross-country, just in town. The local radio station I listen to, when I listen to FM, is Q95. It's a 50k watt station. They probably melted the stuff near their antenna long ago. Turned cows into goats. Sterilized careless wanderers. Heavy electro-magnetic radiation. I have no idea how it'd pick up a tiny station pumping 2 watts out of a 20 foot antenna. Might have to park pretty close.

Still, it's way better than the 3" antenna I used to have. At $15 it might be worth a try. Bear in mind that I don't think twice about dropping fifteen bucks to send my grandson off to the water slide to drive other people crazy, so YMMV on that one. Oh, and you can always carry the stock antenna in the trunk and change it if you want to go to Montana for the weekend.

Yes I saw that it was a VMS brand. I have two different VMS ones. They are much better than those Chinese crapola ones. Worth the extra bucks.

Bummer 07-21-2016 06:41 AM

Hmmm. Chinese crapola ones. That would be the fake carbon fiber made entirely of plastic. Sounds oddly familiar.

HEAVY Z 11-03-2017 09:35 PM

Do you consider it a mod if you get a spare tire, lug wrench and jack? My Roadster didn't come from the factory with them, it just had the repair can.
HEAVY Z

BoilardZ 11-08-2017 06:49 PM

Me too. I replaced the big foam insert with a spare and jack. Seems much more functional than that can of mystery spray. But the best mod by far was getting the SmartTOP. It makes the convertible top so much more functional!
