Default convertible top

With all the issues with the convertible tops not working has anyone tried to remove the hyd. system and manually open/close the top? I seen a YouTube post of the Chrysler crossfire that can be manually operated if need be.

dirod123,

The Owner's Manual shows the steps required for manually opening and closing the soft top.

I'm not certain that I would be willing to do it except in an emergency though.

You can't lock the storage lid or the 5th bow. You'd have to figure out how.

Whats' wrong with your top? I think most times you have either an electrical issue or its the bungees.

I don’t think taking hydraulics out would work. The hydraulics are used to create tension in the top. It’s pretty slick as long as working.

I just reach out the window and give the back a little boost when I am opening it and don’t have the clank when I do that. I should get a bungee one of these days I guess
