You getting your Z from up here in Melbourne? I think they have 1 or 2 brilliant silver 14's on the lot (sport @ least).

I emailed the dealer directly, the one that has the color and I told them this dealership here is offering 2k below invoice and they matched it! Guess I'm driving up their to deal with them instead (my dealership didn't actually offer me $2k below invoice, lol)

Mine was a Sport Package A7, Back up Camera, Floor Mats, etc...

My price is Artificially lower because of the area i live in I get a 5K check back for leasing. So that pays a huge part of why my price was so much lower.

Gyazo - a04de98017d3095b21068f46be7e35bd.png and KBB/Edmunds are showing around the same. None of them are as low as the $38,500 that I'm getting :D |
Well sadly after all that time I spent looking at the Z, has been a waste. I needed my dad to put the insurance under his name for the time being because mine was outrageous and since I'm only in my first year of college, he thinks its a waste of money and doesn't approve and think I will be able to keep up with the payments (even though I've shown him my pay stubs from working part time).
I told him I'd pay for the insurance as well but still no and its pretty disappointing that even though I'm 20 years old I can't get the car I want. But I guess I can't complain considering I still live under his roof until I move out after college :/ I was really looking forward to this car to a point where it actually brought a tear to my eye knowing I wasn't going to be able to get it for another few years at least. Who knows maybe I'll get a raise at work or my insurance will drop. All I know is one day I hope to be apart of the Z community. |
Well that's too bad. But consider your situation, I wouldn't buy/lease a brand new car, specially a less practical one like the Z. The monthly payments (although $500 seems not much) with gas and maintenance will eat you alive. You'll have to work more with your part-time job to keep up and will eventually focus less on your study. My real advice is get something fun but under 10K (like a 07 Civic Si, Mazda3) and then work on your classes and finish college as soon as you can. Get a real job then you can buy whatever car you want.

After you get out of college and get your first job, *then* start pining to finally get the car you want. There should be no bad feelings if you're 20, right now in college, and can't "get the car you want." Not trying to be harsh. :)
If you got that much extra money, spend it on a girl. Yourself. Save it. Get started early. |
I was just thinking after he gets out of college he will have 2 payments his new car and college student loans
