You all have it lucky. I drive a sedan, have a clean record, get a discount for only driving 6 months out of the year, and pay a slight bit over $300 a month.
Granted, I am 17 years old, and the majority of my money goes to insurance (I am only able to work during summers).

I just want to turn 25... (for insurance's sake)

Accidents/Tickets: Both of us have clean records. No violations of any type since driving.

Our coverage limits are 50/100/50. Our deductible is $500. We pay $725 for 6 months which is equivalent to $120.83 p/mo for 3 cars FULL Coverage. The insurance company is Progressive. The Z alone for 6 months is $372 which is $62 p/mo full coverage. I would say those are AWESOME rates!

Insurance companies have a literal war, one trying to capture the others' clients. It all boils down to how well you can negotiate, how flexible the agent is, etc.

i dont have the car yet..but i got a final quote from Allstate

162 per month full coverage (300/100 coverage). I'm 24 have a bunch of tickets including reckless driving and a ton of speeding tickets..so i dont think 162 is too bad.

I'm 22 and I've had one major accident (not my fault).

State Farm wants ~$180/month to insure a Z which is significantly higher than what I'm paying now for my current two-door car.

My insurance guy just quoted me about $100/month for 2 cars - my existing chevy pickup and the Z I want to buy. That's for 50/100 with a 1000 deductable. The new Z was less than twice what my 1993 Chevy pickup is with over 145K miles. ...but I'm late 40s with a very good record and have listed the Z as not commuting with it to work.

I work as an auto insurance broker. If you have a clean driving record, the difference between companies will be somewhat minimal. I have 3 speedings, 1 speeding 100+, 1 at-fault accident, and a crossing double yellow lines and my insurance will be about $240 a month for Liability: 25/50/25 Uninsured Motorist: 25/50/CDW Medical 10,000 Comp Ded 100 and Coll Ded 1,000. In September 2 speedings and the accident will fall off my record and will lower my rates about 100 per month.

A couple of things you should note. Not every violation comes off in 3 years. Speeding 100+ stays on for 7 years, DUI for 10 years, and there are a few others that stay on for 5-7 years.

Another note, you can get 15% off with Progressive insurance if you a) are a member of a credit union, or b) are a AAA member for at least 30 days before starting the policy.

And one more, Progressive takes your word for mileage, so I have my annual mileage at 2,000 and they never check. Ever.

Hope that helps...

Anyone have any idea how much I'd pay?

I'm looking to buy an 09/10 in the summer once I get my signing bonus to use a down payment.

21/m/no tickets ever but I totaled my 1st Camaro when I was 16.

I'll initially be buying the car in suburban PA, but my job is in Chicago so eventually the insurance will get transfered there (i know its considerably more expensive)...unless I can somehow stay on my parents plan or keep the car registered in PA

You will probabbly pay more for the monthly insurance then the car payment. Anyway you can get a quote online. GL

Called my insurance agent to compare a few cars... apparently High Point does not count a 370 as a high performance car and therefore 6 months is not bad at all from them. I think I was quoted at around 5-600?

Consider right now I'm paying $900 every 6 for a 07 G5 which is a pube compared to the Z.

Yea I did some checks on the Statefarm Website and it seems like a 370 would cost about $205/month in Chicago but About $160 at my parents house in PA. I'm guessing theres no way to keep the insurance at my parents house for more than the first year?

Also, seems like a lot of you guys have USAA...are all of you in the Armed forces? or is there another way to get that coverage?

Didn't think of the premium difference based on location. That definitely is a factor.

The only way to have USAA is to be in the services or have a family member who is/was.
