Default My Dealer Used My Car for 290 miles!

I bought a 370Z Coupe 2010 three days ago at an out of state dealer. The car had been sitting on their lot for 2 months and had 9 miles on the odometer when they were laying the "Sold" stickers on her. Today it was driven to delivery here - 91 miles from the dealer - who then promptly departed in my trade-in (a 350Z).

I just noticed that there are now 388 miles on the odometer!

I know I gotta talk to my sales guy tomorrow, but I keep wondering what could POSSIBLY justify their having done so without asking me - or even telling me?

If your car has under 9 miles it didn't get driven anywhere! We send them out the door with up to 50 miles from the factory. This would account for some extended testing or tire balance issues,etc... I would be pissed though if someone put 200 on my vehicle though! I think .25 a mile would be a good refund!

If I give you a buck, can I put four harsh, brutal miles on your Z?
No way! Ask for a five year maintenance contract or extended warranty. If you start with $72.75 (.25 X 291) you will not have much room to negotiate.

Might not be as easy as it sounds. I bought my truck from the dealership, when i picked it up they didnt have time to detail it so they made me a appointment a week later. Truck went to the detailing department. When i got it back there were extra km on the odo, 1/8 of a tank of gas missing and my fuel economy was at 38.8L/100km. When i dropped it off it was at 22.5L/100. I questioned them, they said they didnt do anything except drive it across the street to drop it off when done. I checked everything and the wells were clean, cleaner then before, so they scrubbed them after they were ******* around with my truck. Could have done the same to the OP's car.
