Sorry if we are all making you feel bad but I have to agree with most. I would not have accepted the car. More then likely nothing is going to happen to the car but you also have to remember this is not a Sentra or a Versa. More then likely when a dealer person gets into a Z there gonna beat the balls off of it (I would)

I would not have accepted it. One of the criteria that I used when shopping for my Z was that it must have less than about 12 miles on it. The other was that the front bumper not have been drilled for the license plate. I rejected several cars that otherwise had all the options I wanted because of those things.
I didn't want a car that some 20 something yahoo took for a test/joy ride.

I did the same with my Z. I told my Sales guy that if the car had holes in the bumper I will not be accepting it. So when my Z came in the first thing my Sales guy did was remove the mounts from the trunk and take them inside. Cause as I'm sure we all know just because you tell someone to do something does not mean they will do it.

you can complain about it to the dealer. so they know that you know.
but i really doubt much will come from it. let it go and enjoy your new toy....

Personally, I'd thank them for helping you with the run-in, forget about it and get on enjoying your car. I think most of us are way too hung up on this "new car with 0 miles" concept. A few hundred miles is nothing. Engine break in and life was a big deal 30 years ago, but not anymore, engines are way over-engineered and come from the factory ready for max output and 200k mile lifespan easy. The dealer should have informed you of the mileage status exactly, which was wrong, but they probably just didn't bother to notice. It really will make no difference.

What does it matter.. you'll probably trade it in for a Cayman S or a 5.0 in less then a year anyway :stirthepot:

If its an issue, you shouldn't of accepted the car, otherwise drive the piss out it and enjoy

By the time I got my 2009; which was built in January, it was January 18 2010
and my car that originated from maryland and then to Chicago the other 6 months before I found her on Ebay motors. I had 350 miles upon dilevery.

Might not be as easy as it sounds. I bought my truck from the dealership, when i picked it up they didnt have time to detail it so they made me a appointment a week later. Truck went to the detailing department. When i got it back there were extra km on the odo, 1/8 of a tank of gas missing and my fuel economy was at 38.8L/100km. When i dropped it off it was at 22.5L/100. I questioned them, they said they didnt do anything except drive it across the street to drop it off when done. I checked everything and the wells were clean, cleaner then before, so they scrubbed them after they were ******* around with my truck. Could have done the same to the OP's car.

Just let it go. I've beat the piss out of my car for 15,500 miles and she's going great. 300 is nothing, regardless of how they drove it.

Its only a car dude. On a legal stand point if you put 1 mile on the car then there is no reason thinking about the situation. Enjoy your new ride. How many people do you actually know that do a break in procedure. From my personal experience its hard to hurt a japanese made automobile (17 years). The car is fine man. No worry's dude, put a smile on your face. ;)

I think this response resonates best with me. I don't like making trouble for anyone -particularly around Holiday time- so I had to choose between bitching loud and being philosophical about it.

Ultimately the GM called to apologize. He said the confused foreigner who'd been given my car to register and deliver had driven the car to a DMV in my state, found he had papers missing, drove back to dealership in Brockton MA, then back to DMV in Norwich CT, and from there to my house just 30 minutes away -that last leg took 1.5 hours.
And so arrived just before nightfall and needed to hit me for $20 to get back to the dealership 90 miles away.

Adding this up we still found nearly 90 miles unaccounted for since I'd bought the car 3 days before.

The GM was "embarassed" and offered me an extended warranty as an apology. I'm really not looking for several pieces of silver, but I drive my Z's just 3-4K miles a year and turn then in after 3 years... I've never had much use for the even the standard warranty's protection.

I said "Look man, at least you see that this was so wrong and you're apologizing, but as for recompense, I've got to leave it up to you."

Today I got a follow up call from Nissan USA - standard practice - asking if "everything went smoothly with my new 370Z purchase?"

The lady seemed nice so I told her the whole story (and there were several more false steps than I've bothered to recount).

I actually believed I could hear her head spinning.

It did me a world of good to vent my anger. It'd be nice if there were some recompense to come out of it, but it is wonderfully revitalizing to have had the sympathetic ear of someone who *just perhaps* will kick this story upstairs- where it belongs, IMO.
