Probably owners' realize they own one of the ugliest vehicles on the planet and stoop to insurance fraud to try to get out of it.

Dunno about the second part of the question, but that car actually looks a lot better in person (walk around it). I remember a similar expectation about BMW's X6 when it first came out in pics. After seeing it around the neighborhood, I've grown to really like the way they show.
