Default Good price on 09 370z?

So, I've found an 09 370z coupe automatic, brand new, black on black, touring + sports for 33 grand. I was wondering if this seems like a good price. Any noticeable differences between 09/10? If I decide to bite on it I do not want to insult them with too low a number.

They are also quoting a finance rate of 6.9 which just seems high to me, I'm 25 with a credit score in the 780 range. I know there are tons of factors but what is a good apr?

This will be my first car purchase. I've owned a hand me down blazer for years and bought a motorcycle (only $3200) so this is a fairly large purchase and I wanna get the best deal I can. This car is borderline with what I'm comfortable paying monthly for a car anyway ($500).

check out my thread here:

2009 370z WIN!!

our cars are basically the same but youre paying $6.5k more for touring. i would offer them $30k max

just go to penfed.org and get 2.99% like me. if your score is 780, you will qualify. this is also my first car purchase

Okay price but you could do better.

30k might be tough but it might be worth a shot.

6.9% is probably just what Nissan is offering without incentives, meaning not really trying. The finance manager should be able to find you something through a bank around 4% or lower. The Penfed option seems to have worked for a lot of other people here too.

You could also try accepting it a little higher (31.5K?) but get them to add the 7/100 extended warranty.

Since they pay dealer cost and you couldn't, both sides can afford to give some.

Secure financing from your bank or credit union before you go.

How many miles? $30K sounds much better...

It shows to have every option but navigation and has 2338 miles on the odometer. Didn't even think about compromising to get extended warranty out of them. I might do the same for the navigation system. Is the extended warranty roughly 1500? Be good to know for any negotiating.

Is 2338 miles to be expected of a 2009 car if it was used for demos? Because that seems awful high to me. I figure if it is high I could use that to help negotiate the extended warranty.

As for the financing, I probably will go to my bank first. They helped me years back to get my credit started by giving me a credit card when nobody else wanted to. Now I get offers every other day -.-. They also know my financial situation better than anyone.

@vcdporn You got one hell of a deal, congrats.

I don't think that's brand new any more.

There's a sticky for extended warranty prices people have paid that can help you get an idea what it is worth.

I don't think think the Navigation can be added by the dealer.

The only way to get factory nav is to buy it with it installed from the factory, No one, including dealers have been able to install factory nav in a car that didn't come that wa from Japan

Thanks, I found the post about extended warranty prices over in another section. That sucks about the navigation system. Anyone know why it can't be? Just curious. I've heard of some cars having no problem fitting in factory nav after the fact and others still able but far too much money and hassle to consider.

I agree about it not being 'brand new' anymore. Of course, the dealership still claims it as so. They don't list the mileage on their dealer site either, I had to find the car on autotrader to determine the mileage.

your warranty doesn't start until all the paper are signed regardless of milage, so if it has 2k on it your warranty wont expire until 38k, same thing with years, you might be buying a 2009, but you did not get it until the middle of 2010, so you will be good untill 2013 and so on. not sure if that is why you are on the hunt for a extended warranty or not. Also, you can always go back and buy it later, im not sure when the cutoff is but i think it would be somewhere right before 36k if you got the car with no miles.

if i am wrong about anything someone please correct me.

Actually wilsonp just suggested that I should negotiate the price to include the extended warranty so that I could get the warranty as cheap as possible. I figure with it having as many miles as it does, for new, I could use that to suggest I would feel far more comfortable buying a new car with that many miles with 7 years /100k miles warranty and perhaps that would help with negotiating the price and extended warranty. I was just trying to find out how much others have paid for the warranty so that I know about what it is worth when negotiating the price.

Thanks for the info about the warranty beginning at whatever mileage its purchased at. I knew the years began that way but I never made the connection about the mileage. The only reason I am now interested in the extended warranty is that I read, I believe on this very forum, that even though Nissan is very reliable, the number of repairs for them spike, statistically, around the 3 year mark. So if I have an opportunity to get peace of mind over the next 7 years that anything not caused by stupidity/wear will be covered, and get it at a cheap price, I'm in.
