Which dealer did you go to???

I got mine there and it was my BEST dealer experience.

I sent emails to 10 dealers within 50 miles. Most responses were takers, a few counter-offers, and one no answer. I spoke to the takers over the phone and visited them all. I got the usual bs - some said they had the car and didn't, one sold "my" car as we were negotiating. The one I ended up going with "ordered" the car. Turns out they were just killing time to do a trade. When they found a car, they tried to hit me with a towing fee. I didn't like that fee or the fact that they lied to me.

I extended my range and found John Marazzi Nissan. I dealt with Jason, can't remember his last name. My offer was slightly under invoice and he accepted (I pitched my offer OTD, all fees included). I spoke to him over the phone and made it clear I'd be driving almost 2 hours and explained the crap I went through with the other 10 dealers and he made me feel confident the deal was legit. When I got there and saw the invoice and breakdown, there was a typo and it was about $100 less than what we agreed on the email and they honored it. I inspected the car, sipped some coffee. The deal, literally, took a few minutes. They threw in the splash guards, floor/trunk mats, and illuminated sills at no charge (the price was under invoice for a configuration without these options).

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. You probably dealt with the wrong guy. I don't know, but dealer fees are pretty standard - I would've gotten clarification. Good luck finding your car.

You think 35000 is a good price? that seems really cheap with the sports package and nav.

I haven't gotten a quote for less then 38500 so I guess its time to start negotiating.

Jason 04-24-2010 10:04 PM

35k otd? that seems unlikely for a '10 auto sport/nav. PM lou fusz, he was very helpful letting me know what definitely wasn't doable for a dealer.

One of the negatives of car ownership..... negative dealerships. All i can say is keep your eyes on "Z" prize.Good luck.

NewYorkJon34 04-24-2010 10:23 PM

Well think of it like this, my 2009 base Z (manual) with sports package was priced around $34000, I talked them down & got a deal of about $29000-30000 with the light up door sills & free oil change/tires for life. It all depends on what dealer you go to, marazzi gave us a shitty deal & didn't want to budge intill after we recieved our super deal at ft.myers Nissan. Then they wanted us to come back & said they would match whatever ft. Myers Nissan was offering after the fact. If marazzi would have just gave me that deal in the first place, I would have bought the car from them, but they had to be a bunch of lying snakes & pull that BS. I live in Naples, but still go to Ft.myers Nissan, because I get such better service there, I know most of the people there & and they treat me like family. If I have to go to marazzi, I get such shitty service almost as if they know I didn't buy the car from them and they hold it against me. It just makes me sick & 1 other thing: is it me or does "Frankie G" look like the biggest doucher in the world? :superghey:

Whenever they ask "How much you looking to spend?", never ever ever give them a number. Just tell them to give you the best price they can, out the door, and go from there.

^ Or say "$1 Bob"....that one works everytime ;)

I was after invoice price and i got it. we had just come from another dealer who wouldn't go below 37800, so i knew what i was working with. I didn't expect to get below invoice on a 2010 special order. I wasnt about to go haggling over 100-200 dollars below invoice.

Yes i know you should let them speak first, but i knew all the numbers and figures and i bought my last car through them and my parents bought their infiniti's through their sister dealership.

thanks

btw its touring/ sport /nav. 35,000=good price for touring/nav. Invoice on sport package is 2800, so from your number i paid below invoice for my sport package assuming a 35000 is good for a touring. 37500 for touring alone would be real bad.

i believe 37495 was invoice for my car as i ordered it, i paid 5 dollars over that. i think i did ok, or am i missing something?

I think he's saying that if they took your first offer without batting an eyelash, you could have done better. Doesn't matter though...if you're happy with the price you paid, then congrats!

I paid $35K for my 2009 Sport/Touring (no Nav) in November. I believe Z sales are very very low in this economy. You could have done better, imo, maybe $36K but it really comes down to the inventory/availability in your area.

We have dealt with John Marrazzi nissan and had a nice easy experience. Our friend from High school works there. So that prob. helped out. It was a used car(volvo s60R for her).

Sorry to hear this OP.

Chris

Now I must promote :o I see a lot of Naples users. June 5-6th we(sfzcc.com) will be having a BBQ in Estero. Check out southeast section for details. I am sorry OP :o

Thank You Mr. Marazzi for the offer, I will be in contact if I can somehow manage transportation since my house in Naples is not a full time home.

I was just aggravated by the situation and to make it worse I called yesterday off of a different phone asked for the same vehicle and they assured me it would be there in 2 days if I wanted it, just like last time.

I greatly appreciate you coming on here and apologizing it goes a long way towards customer service so thank you.
