Yeah no way, not enough of these sold for that to happen.

Guessing it would be 70-75% after one year at worst. 56% is way, way low.

i assumed that the 56% was 2 years after it was sold, so that would be a 2011 price for a 2009 Z.

Worth $16k at 2 years? That's on the extreme side. I'd expect more around 20k.

i think this is prevalent for sports cars. sports cars are usually driven hard, so i think that takes away from the value of the car.

Is that what any car owner wants to see? no. not much we can do about it though, except keep your car in tip top shape and hope for the best when its that time for you to trade it in/sell.

I don't think this is a realistic projection.

.....But a good one for the leasing companies that basically set their rates on Depreciation. They'll make a profit on the back end using those numbers..

Maybe those numbers are just for the few 2009's that actually sold - the rest of them are still sitting on the dealer lots brand new.

kbb means nothing.. atleast on the east coast kbb is always thousands off. Sometimes kbb is very low sometimes they are very high. Ive seen kbb state a car as being worth 5,000 but are easily selling for 8 or 9,000 at auctions.

the 350z sold more Z than the 370 starting off and the 350z can still sale for 10-15g so i think this is way way off. the only way a 09 Z loses almost half its value is if it has 100K+ miles on it
