That is the deal I am currently getting on the 40th and I am probably just going to take it as long as we workout a decent rate on the financing.

maybe it's a VIN window etching. Make sure and determine whether that very official sounding fee is actually a required fee. If not, like documentation fees, it is probably just a negotiable as the price of the car

Also, make them itemize out the documentation fee separately from the actual title fees. The documentation fee itself goes to the dealer.

It's not my responsibility to feed anyone's mouth but my own. There's plenty of other jobs out there where people being "jews"(cute, by the way...) will have no effect on your paycheck. I suggest those salesmen with empty stomachs look into alternative careers. Salesmen are notorious for doing everything to improve their bottom line. Consumers should be even more justified in doing so.

Empty stomachs? I work for a nissan dealer and ive grossed six figures 2 yrs in a row now. Im not struggling. Besides, someone has to do the job. We all need cars and we all have needs and wants.

What's wrong with trying to save some money? Dealerships always have a choice on the price they want to sell a car for and in turn we have a choice if we want to buy at that price.

There are plenty of people out there that the dealership can make tons of money on, personally I don't feel like being one of those people.

Quick question, what is "VPP"?

Side note: the way the free market in a capitalist society works, is that you can offer to buy goods at whatever price you want, and the seller of the goods can sell to you or not. It's all voluntary. It is beyond absurd to infer that people putting in the effort to get a good deal are somehow preventing the seller from being able to feed their families.

Referring to someone working for a good deal as a "jew" is highly offensive.. and that should just be common sense to somebody who is not completely brain damaged.

4. March comes, Dealership B contacted me. I told him $36K, he said he can't..so the conversation ended.

5. I then read on this forum that some member paid $34.8 with VPP and $36.7K without, so I think $36.5K is a range acceptable to me. As I drafting my email to dealership B to offer this price, he contacted me and gave me $36.4K.

6. My OTD price is $36.4K + $3870(T/T/L) = $40.3K

7. I told the dealer I will finance 20K at first, and they gave me 5.99% for 48 and 60 months. In the printout I see the interests will be around $2.5K and 3.3K respectively.. so I decided to pay cash, then he offer me 3.75% instead if I buy the extend warranty 6yr/75K miles which is $1.9K with Costco card membership (w/o is $2.7K).. Anyway, I didn't buy the extended warranty.. but should I?. The dealer told me after the first year of the factory warranty, if something broke, you need to pay service $210 for tech just to look at your car, if you buy this warranty, it is covered... is this true?, anyway.. I still have 2 weeks to decide before the car arrives..

Conclusion.. I think I can get a better deal than $36.4..maybe in the $35K range... since their first 40th has been sitting on the showroom for 3 weeks and not sold. The car still sitting there and they priced it @ $42K when I was there to sign the paper today. I spent 5 weeks to work out this deal..I think I should spend longer to save an extra 1k...
I would wait it out until you get a deal around what you expect, which is around 36K, dealerships are way over there head if they think they can get MSRP. I saw 2 40th anniversary edition in one dealership just sitting around since last month, and the reason I know is because I'm also trying to work a deal on getting a 370z. Not a 40th though since I wanted a Nav, so instead I'm just gonna get a fully loaded one. But I tell you, some dealership may just end up playing ball with the VPP if they're under pressure in just making numbers and not just pure profit off of one car. And if you're telling them you have a VPP that's expiring soon and are ready to buy, you may have an upper hand. Who knows, that's just my 2 cents. I have a dealership right now that's honoring a VPP price for a car that I'm ordering (which means they may not actually make any money) just to meet numbers. So we'll see. I also don't wanna get my hopes up on my end either.

Little update. I settled on the sale price of the 40th Z and test drove it last night at the dealership. I love the car and definitely think I am moving forward. Problem is, now began Round 2 of the negotiations... Financing. He told me 12.9% was the only rate he could pull, I laughed and he came back with 7.09%. I told him I need 3.99% and I will get it from a credit union if I have to. Problem is I obviously didn't want to waste the time of now opening an account at a Credit Union just to get the quote that Nissan will match. But I guess if that's what it takes I'll have to do so. Is this the best way for me to hit that 3.99%? Being 23 years old and not really using credit cards kind of sucks in cases like this...

I would just put 35K down on the car in cash but I kind of wanted to use this loan to build my credit since my last car was under my parents name and I indirectly made payments to pay it off.

Obviously 7% is out of the question, but 3.99 may be too low if you have little credit. On a 15k loan the difference between 3.9 and 4.9% over 5 years is 408 dollars extra interest over the life of the loan.

Yeah I may be aiming for 5.00-5.99% now, it's sad because I just bought a 240K house and that was no problem.... yet a car that I could just pay cash for is a problem..

*edit* Spoke to my home loan agent and he told me to just take the 7.79% and walk. I will be paying this thing off once it boosts my credit for me within 1 year anyways. Guess I am going to Nissan tomorrow to sign
