Default Looking for advice on getting a Z

Hey guys, so I currently have a nissan leased which I'm planning on returning in end of spring/early June in order to get another nissan, 370z.

I'm looking to get a Base w/ sports package. Now my dillema is in what I'll be able to afford. My budget is around ~500 a month payment. I recently had an emergency situation and wasted most of my savings for the down payment, I'll only have about 2500-3000 for the down payment on the Z.

Should I be looking to finance or lease? I haven't really seen anyone talk about leasing the car, I'm assuming that the z is not great for leasing.

Anyways, I'm hoping to get some real life advice from you guys since I don't know if my down payment is enough.

maybe the best advice we can give you is to buy a more affordable car... but that's up to you... you might want to look for last year's model to save a few $... personally, i think people should just buy their cars - leasing can be almost financially equal to buying but with leasing you pay tax on the whole thing and you are only buying the price-residual, if that makes sense... also financing rates are low now

suggest you talk it through with lou fusz nissan for advice from a trusted dealer on this board

I think that's too low of a down payment and your monthly bill will exceed $500.

The Z is horrible to lease. You are better off to purchase.

point taken, as far as taking a cheaper car; my two choices at the moment are either this or a fully loaded maxima. I'm fine with the maxima other than I'm not a huge fan of the new design, and I don't want another FWD. I'm at a point in my life where if I don't get a 2 door sports car now, I feel like it's never going to happen, once family starts and all.

A $500 dollar payment based on your downpayment is going to net you a car somewhere in the high $20k area, even with a 72 month loan. So, like travis said, your best bet is to see what kind of smokin' deal you can get on an old model, or even better, a used model.
Basically, if your price OTD is over $27k, you need to keep looking. Of course this depends on your credit score and what interest rate you can get as well. I'm basing my ramblings on 6% interest.

You may be able to find a used 09 from Carmax or something like that. You will not be able afford a new 370 on that budget and down. I can't say about a lease, I've never done a lease before.

Going to pick up the exact car tonight. 2010 370z base with sports 6speed. it has illuminated door sills, splash guards and mats. I am walking in with $700 cash and walking out with a 36 month 12k year lease for $456/month. Im also trading in a leased 2009 TSX Base with 25k miles....Still has a 1.3 years left on lease. The dealer payoff is $25,233. I sure hope its a good deal. It sounded decent thats why im going for it.

Check this out....Went to get my car tonight....Did all the paperwork, I'm just about to sign the final document and notice the manager is hiding how many months the lease is for. So I ask him if the terms are for 36 months. He begins to tell me "they are what you agreed on" So i basically demand to see what they are. This jerkoff tried to get me to sign a 60 month lease! after agreeing to 36 month. It just so happens he cant find all the papers from the day before that they wouldnt let me photocopy. I should have known the deal was to good to be true. Ended up walking out. I am so devistated right now. I really wanted it!!!!

You're tellin me! I'm working with another dealership now to work it out. Once I have things figured out, I will post the name of the dealer.

I hate to bad mouth people/places but I think this is an instance where it may be necessary. I googled the name and it doesnt have the best reviews. looks like they pulled the "bait and switch" on some others.

yea I had a problem also with my purchase which is why I decided to wait....
Long story short I was told my payments would be 550 per month on a purchase then when I went to sign they were not even close and we are talking about me putting 10k down... I am upsidedown on my Z for about 3k but the dealer I was purchasing from was just shady....... I walked away and decided I would save more... They tried to call me like 4 times the following couple days telling me they had a better deal for me.... I just ignored them....

When I do decide to buy ill probably buy from Lou here on the forums.... he is only about a 7 hour drive from me.... atleast then I will know I will be getting a good deal with no BS thrown in the mix.
