I would start with demanding a similar price deal on yours, which is around $3k less than you paid. Will they write you a check for $3k? Probably not. Maybe you can settle around $1500-2500 with them, in my opinion that would be fair.

Anecdote.........

My last car prior to my Z was a used 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan I bought back in Sep of 2012. The dealer advertised it as though it had Premium Package (which retails for $3100) for a sale price of $37500. I negotiated a price with them which was a steal, $34000 (new they were roughly $47k in with the options it had), and then upon arrival to the dealership (4 hour drive) discovered it did not have Premium Package. I confidently told them I would buy it if they took off the MSRP of $3100 for Premium Package expecting them to counter with $1.5k or $2k which I would have definitely considered. They just said yes and sold me the car for $30900. Of course, this was prior to any transaction so different than your situation but the point is, you have the ball in your court because they misrepresented the situation AND have already taken your vehicle in on a trade. They may be unable to reverse it. Go in there heartbroken about the SRM and wheels and "deception" and go get the deal you thought you did.

Thanks for doing the math :-)
Hubby and I are discussing the possible outcomes.
At minimum the tires and the rims
Cash refund
Reporting the fraudulent advertising to State Department of Consumer Affairs and I have a way to get the complaint noticed.

At their first sign of them balking at whatever you decide to demand/ask from them, I'd drop that this is on your "to-do list" with a copy of your complaint going to the state attorney general.

I think their calling it a 370Z Sport as well as listing "Trim: Sport" not only implies, but represents, it is the Sport Package.

What a mess. Good luck.

While I personally believe that the way they advertised it was incorrect and misleading, I do hope you realize that you are not completely without fault here. The dealer should have done its due diligence, but they made a fairly easy mistake and I doubt it was deliberate. I would expect them to offer to help you out in some way if they are a reputable dealer because it was their mistake first, but are you entitled to $4000 or $5000 over this? Probably not.

There is a difference between mislabeling a vehicle and painting the calipers and putting a "Sport" badge on it. I hope you get what you want, but do keep yourself grounded in this battle with the dealer. I see a lot of people throwing numbers around on this thread that are just not going to happen.

I completely understand what you are saying and no, I was not expecting $4000-5000.

The general manager made what we considered to be a fair offer for their part of the misrepresentation. We shook hands and I am satisfied with the outcome.

I'm back to an excellent deal for a base that has a rear deck spoiler (that was on the car day of purchase).
