I saw a black today in person, it is STUNNING, but it was already dirty after a single day of sitting....PG for me...plus PG looks good with carbon :)

Maynard 01-03-2009 01:02 AM

Two of my last three cars have been black. Black looks AWESOME when its clean, not so much when its not. When it gets dirty, you can tell right away. I can't imagine White being much easier to keep looking clean.

I also like hearing what Mythos said about his titanium/sonic silver/diamond graphite/platinum silver colored Infiniti/Nissans.

sbkim 01-04-2009 12:19 AM

Does PG have a tinge of brown?

bossman 01-04-2009 01:25 AM

best pics by far AK.. props. yeah i'll have to agree with you guys about PG being the best color for this car due to the high level of luster and class it carries, not to mention easy to maintain. i'd still choose a black one over it in a heartbeat due to the fact that it does the best job of hiding the "butt-hole" foglight cover at the bottom

I would say some sort of gold hue to it. This is a great color to keep it clean. Probably right after silver. My silver Z, I don't even clean it often but it looks shinny all year long.

Got it - thanks! I think I am leaning towards PG at the moment. I like silver but I don't think hours of detailing will show well compare to PG or other darker colors.

This darker silver shows off the contours of the car much better. The contours are barely visible in white or silver and overpowered by black. But the PG really shows off the sculpts of the body which are a big design element of this car. The G37 in PG blows you away and I suspect the Z is the same.

Excellent point - curves are the bomb on this car for sure. PG it is :D

Temple 01-04-2009 11:53 AM

I went to the dealer and saw a GT-R that was gray and I asked the sales manager if the 370z was going to be the same gray and he said yes. Is this true. I know they have different names but I also took down there sample swatch and held it next to the GT-R and they looked about the same. If this is true I did not see any hint of gold but that could be the lighting in the dealership...

sbkim 01-04-2009 03:27 PM

I went to check out 09 G37 in PG. Looked great but it def had brownish tint.

Temple 01-04-2009 04:43 PM

Well if that is true that would really suck. I want this color but not if it has ANY brown or gold hues... :barf:

If it looks the same as the GT-R Gray then I am in...

Yea, I was a bit disappointed with the PG - at least on the G37. I know it was a bit dirty and it wasn't completely sunny out but the gold tint is steering me away from the color now.

Temple 01-04-2009 07:12 PM

I am not sure if that color on the G37 you saw is the same as the 370z color. I looked up a bunch of pics online and none of them looked like the 370z gray. Keeping my fingers crossed...

He might have been looking at amethyst graphite. Best to take a look at PG in person under direct sunlight, cloudy sky, and under dealer showroom lights to get a feel for the color. I haven't noticed any bronze tones even though it does look like it has a bronze shimmer in the pics on the first page of this thread. I suspect that's one of those lighting flukes as opposed to the actual representation of the color. Here's a pic with Amethyst Graphite on the left, slate in the middle, and PG on the right.

Funny how that color can look so different in every shot. First shot I see the brownish/goldish hue second I do not. I need to see this color in the daylight in person. I think I am now leaning towards either black or white.

Thanks for the shots AK370Z!

It is odd. There's a bronze shimmer in some angles and certain lights. Looks like they added those tones to the paint in PG. The previous darker silvers by Nissan, Titanium, Diamond Graphite, Sonic Silver, didn't have this bronze hue.

sbkim 01-06-2009 11:13 AM

Trust me I saw PG - unless sticker on the car was wrong. You have to see the color in person.

bossman 01-07-2009 01:23 AM

wow it's not brown or bronze get over it already..

Minicobra1 01-07-2009 01:45 AM

Picked up my PG last night, the color is awesome, I'm not noticing any bronze hue to it, it's more of a cool color then a warm one.

Minicobra1,

Can you please post a lot of pics of your car? You have the exact build I am looking at. I would like to see more of the interior both close up and from further away. Also, some with the door open looking in would be nice. I just trying to decide if the Persimon color is the one I want.

Congrats on the buy!

sbkim 01-07-2009 12:24 PM

congrats minicobra.

I presume the LA autoshow car was PG??? Because I see no bronze whatsoever.

Park it in the open under blue skies, it'll look cool. Park it next to a beige building in the late afternoon sun, it'll look warm.

Btw, congrats! I'm insanely jealous :) I want a PG too.

All I have at the moment are these crappy cell phone pics taken the day after I purchased it. it was early morning 6am and there is a lot of dew on the car, I plan on doing some better shots this weekend. :-) I just had the windows tinted today, so I'll get some new ones with that, 3M film, medium in front and dark in the back, not sure what percentages though. but it looks great! Everyone that I've showed the car to is really impressed with the color combo, I have had only positive comments about the Persimon, everyone usually just says - WOW! when I open the door. The only drawback that I can see is that it will have to be wiped down with some leather cleaner every week or so, because the dirt will show more then on black, but then again it will probably last longer if you maintain it regularly. Black or Dark grey leathers tend to get neglected.

Yes, this is true, it tends to pick up the natural or artificial light.

Thanks!! I was a little stressed about the purchase, I didn't trade in my Mini Cooper JCW, b/c they didn't want to give me a good deal, so I will have to sell it private party, hopefully I can do that quick! I have an 05 Nissan Armada too, so I definitely can't afford 3 car payments. I'll feel a lot better when I sell the Mini.
Although I hate to see it go, it was prob the most fun car I've ever owned, so far..........

Also, my wife is in Japan on a biz trip, and she doesn't even know yet, she gets home in 3 days, and surprise!! I'm either in the dog house, or she'll want to go for a drive right away :icon17:

Yes it was, mine is the same color combo as that one :icon17:
I got to see them before the auto show at the Edmonds event, but they didn't have a PG there. When I saw it at the auto show, I knew that was the one for me. :driving:

ozzfest 01-08-2009 11:49 AM

Congrats Minicobra!! Thats the same exact color combo i am thinking of for my Z when it comes time to get it. Either that or the blue one with the gray interior.

deeocom 01-08-2009 06:42 PM

Congrats!! How much did you pick it up for?? I am looking around for the same package.

It was $40,100 which was msrp sticker, they had it marked up 5k over and it took about 2.5hrs of negotiating to get it to msrp. I don't think they would have went lower and I was pretty beat up by then, so I gave in

sbkim 01-09-2009 05:55 PM

Not sure if this is accurate but it appears that PG is the same as 07-08 350z Carbon Silver.

alright man, get to tinting those windows and installing heated mirrors!

msl82 01-15-2009 07:37 AM

Guys, I have a quick question about the rim color for PG.

For white cars, the combo are usually, black rim w/ polished lip, gold rims w/ polished lip, and any other color rims.

For black cars, the combos are usually, black rim w/ polished lip, or any regular colors.

What is good rim color for PG? I am wondering Gunmetal rim w/ polished lip?

sbkim 01-15-2009 08:26 AM

My preference is to keep is simple and classy - leaning towards either just plain silver or brushed alum look with polished lip.

Isn't brushed alum almost same as gunmetal?

I belive gunmetal is darker and has brownish tint - and will go well with PG.

Not endorsing the look of the wheel but just for color comparison purposes:

I think some of the pics are Japan's titanium silver which does have a gold/brown/tan hue to it.

Dude, you're in p'cola. Where did you get ur M6 370Z? Sandy only had autos last time I checked.
