Forza fans, rejoice (Xbox 360)
I love Forza and this looks awesome! Let's just hope the 370Z is in there.
Forza Pitpass Report: E3 2009 - Start Your Engines! | Forza Motorsport |
<3 Forza! Can't wait to see what part 3 brings us.. And i'm really sure they would include the 370Z.. it's more prestigious than a lot of the other cars they let you drive in-game.
|
I hope they include more tracks instead of making you buy them months later down the road.

Gran Turismo V FTW! Looks like they acquired NASCAR and WRC licenses.

I suggest visiting this link. It might shed some light on the JDM side of Forza 3 for some of you.

FORZA FTW!! yup the 370 is in there. its in the trailer!!
|
Can't wait, I may have to go buy the wheel!
|
new GT5 trailer today too
|

No release date for GT5... Sony can go to hell. I've been anticipating that game for years, and it keeps looking better and better, but the window keeps getting further and further away. If I was Sony, I'd be down right pissed at Polyphony for allowing Forza 3 to be released before GT5.
Forza 3 looks really promising. Much better looking than F2, although after seeing the GT5 trailer I have to give them the trophy for the visuals. Can't really comment on the playing... the trailer was all over the place with gameplay and really weird stunt videos. The gameplay looked good enough, but the stunt vids looked comical, and kind of took away from the game's rep IMO. The social network aspect of the game looks really cool though, and I can't wait to see what kind fo tools they have for painting the cars. |
i wouldnt expect GT5 until spring /summer 2010
as for FORZA thats supposed to be october and NFS is sept so im getting both of those |
Unfortunately I agree with you. I want to get GT5, but will probably pass on it for Forza 3 now, and I already dropped the 150 for the wheel a year ago. By the time GT5 comes out, I'll be neck deep into F3 and not feel like starting over a virtual racing career in another game.

I couldn't watch the trailer at work, but I'll see it in a second! IT IS IN THERE!! |
Whoa that's crazy that GT5 got a NASCAR license.
EA Sports had a stranglehold on it for years and put out really, really, really crappy NASCAR games. Glad to see NASCAR allowing licenses for multiple companies now to get some competition back going. |
I am rejoiced.

I am anticipating GT5, I think it will be better then Forza 3 in every aspect and form.
Let's add up the comparison to the new enhancements from their prior releases Forza 3 vs Gran Turismo 5 Quantity F3 400 vehicles - GT5 over 800/1000 Quality F3 slight improvment over Forza 2 - GT5 Huge improvement since GT4 Gameplay F3 Same Physics, better online then F2, custom track created by game developer, ingame car view, and photo upload mode GT5 WRC, NASCAR, D1/Drift, Drag racing, Simulated exact renderings of vehicles in sound and driving capabilites, motorcycles, private lobbys, and the wonderful GT Channel filled with car shows like Top Gear and Speed Online F3 pay to play GT5 Free network It comes down to the controller as well, no offense, but i feel the controller on the PS3 responds quicker then the 360 and finally it takes 1 PS3 to fully complete GT5 where as it'll take maybe 3-4 360's to complete a game of Forza due to the rrod lmaooo I had to throw that in anyway. I'm happy to see competitive car series games back in action and ready to compare against each other. In the end I think GT5 will win hands down. |
I don't know what it is about Forza but I have always liked it better than GT.
With their new damage model I'm hoping that will cut down on the Bumper cars multiplayer! Forza 3 FTW! |
We need to settle this. I've got both systems so everybody chip in a few bucks to buy me both games and I wil give an unbiased review. I take PayPal.
And like DevilZ said you may want to throw in a few more bucks for an extra 360 in case mine takes a dump during the review. |
Hey, while people are at it, chip in a few bucks to me, and I can provide counterpoint to CBRich! I have both, and my 360 is battle-tested, guaranteed to not rrod! (pffffft.) Hopefully this thread doesn't turn into a x360 vs. ps3 shootout like all the other blogs are...but!
Devil Z: -Sure GT5 has 800/1000 cars, but you have to filter down the models of each car. I remember reading and thinking, "WOW SO MANY CARS!" only to find I could choose one out of like 200 Nissan Skyline (TRIM LEVEL HERE). Also, while it IS amusing to drive around in a little Fiat Panda or equivalent Euro-box car with 90 hp, I hardly buy racing games for that. Having trucks available for racing is questionable as well (although if they let you drive OVER the competition, I might reconsider :D ). -GT5 wins in the visual department, sure, I'll take it. But to me, gameplay is still in the Forza world, mostly for its better tuning capability. The cars actually responded differently, instead of all feeling like boats. At least they started with damage physics, too. GT has taken 5 iterations to get that little show going? Seriously, what the hell Polyphony? -It's nice to have a bajillion ways to race, but the scope of the game is now ridiculous. WRC, Drift, NASCAR, and the typical GT race? That's basically four games in one! Yes, the common thought is "Yay four games for the price of one!" But development-wise, the scope creep is ridiculous. I will be surprised if they are able to make their targeted release date next year. Hopefully GT5 isn't the next DNF...If they do manage to pull this off, though, congrats, best race game ever in a nanosecond. -I will say that the PS3 has the Logitech G25 controller, which is hands down the best piece of gaming hardware I have ever seen for racing sims. The Xbox equivalents look like rubbish in comparison :/ |
I'm all for my 360. Looking forward to getting Forza3. I have Forza2 right now. I'm hoping they update the Road Atlanta track since they have made some upgrades!!!
|
It was only a matter of time until this turned into a ps3 vs 360 fanboi battle :)
|
Yes! Fanboi battle. I want first pick for the 360 team. My first choice is phelan. Come on over.
Okay darklocust, you got next pick. |
^ :tiphat:
Speaking of Forza... Sneak Peek: Forza Motorsport 3 Driving for Audi @ Le Mans? Seriously?! Oh my...I'm drooling... |
To each his own although, I am not a fan boy. I am supporting a better quality made game, look at it like this every GT game that was released was made better and more time consuming. Meaning Polyphony took years to give us this GT5, atleast a better trailer, regardless of how many cars, the point is they are taking long to make quality. Forza has released now going twice for the 360 and GT5 isn't even out yet, which is the first full made GT game on PS3. I won't make an arguement because everyone has their own opinions, likes, and dislikes. I just hope everyone enjoys the 370Z at full visual detailed scaled models in these games.
BTW I went through 5 Xbox 360s all with rrod and glitching problems. I've had my PS3 60GB since launch and never had a single problem. Xbox 360 = Hyundai Genesis PS3 = Nissan 370Z lmaooooooo |
There are no fanboy battles - I have both systems and will own both games... but its just that when you have a G25 wheel hooked up to your PS3 and are playing GT5p vs playing any of these games on a controller - the feeling is sublime... not to mention - most of the crap forza is adding is all gameplay based for the online support (which they do very well) but i will honestly say this - i will never ever be playing GT5 online - im getting it for the track and car simulation... seriously... graphics can go take a hike as long as every nut and bolt are being simulated - now polyphony has had 5 iterations and with each one dramatically builds upon the next. They already have in car cams with amazing rendering of the inside of the car... they already have such a realistic driving physics feel.
So yes... if you play online... then forza would probably better suited - but you pay to play it... but if all you care about is track sim and car sim... GT5 is where its at. |
One thing I will also say is GT5P for PS3 had shitty online, like lag and the slightest bump in anyone's car and you would go flying into the grass. Even if you tried to not bump someone or evade them, if they touched you you would probably get like a 4 second penalty. I'm hoping online is much better then GT5p, if GT5 is better online wise the game will last. Forza's damage looks really great, my most favorite part of the game was damage, but when it comes down to simulation GT5 hands down.
|
Alright, Devil Z goes to darklocust. I'm looking for my next pick. Get those hands up, who wants to join? LOL.
I'm not sure that taking longer is a sign of a higher quality product but we just won't know until GT5 actually comes out. Either way I'll own both and I'm sure they'll both be great. And RROD has taken down two of my boxes so far. To sum up: PS3 IS THE SUXOR, 360 TO THE DEATH!!!!!!! :p |

What's your PS3 PSN tag if you have one?? mine's Babylon_ Add me if you play Battlefield BC, or GT5p |
I'm TheDarkAnubis, when I get home I'll have to add you.

Devil Z, you are my savior!!! I agree with everything you said. GT5 will be amazing. Forza 3 looks good but still looks like an arcade game. NFS has disappointed me lately. Pro Street was OK but Undercover wasnt good at all. So im most likely not going to get Shift (thats what i say to every game but I still end up getting it )
My PSN is ihc95 |
I'll stick to the 360 side. Frankly, having played Forza 1 and 2, and also GT1, 2, and 4, Forza's straight system of modifications and relatively tame tuning was fun and easy to comprehend for the gamer and immersive for the true enthusiast. GT was great, but seriously, it's just ... too realistic. I don't buy racing games so I can drive tiny European econoboxes that don't even make it past 90 mph on a three mile straightaway.
Also, I only own a X360, lol. |
|
Looks Sick!
|
ahh..doesnt have the sports package...im not buying it! haha jk. not that u have to heel-toe..i guess index-middle finger in the game lol. i cant wait till it comes out. i also considered a ps3 for gt5, and for bluetooth...but i dont think its worth it. the only thing i didnt like about forza too was aesthetic modification.
|
Actually, I think it is sport package, the wheels seem eerily similar, even though they're blurry. Missing a spoiler though. There probably is a 370Z with a sport package available for purchase, lol.
I hope the game feels less sticky grip and gets mechanics like RaceDriver GRID. You could drift through turns and it had a beautiful physics engine. I hope a similar engine makes it to the FM3. |
Awesome picture and its in my color too!
