Fairlady Z Badge
|
Yes. Like it!
What part of Jersey are you in?(just curious). Also, I can add a poll in this thread if you want. |
i like it too.. it looks better then the 370 emblem
fairlady Z ftw! |
Love it, something I will be doing to my car once I get her. Is the badge in the same spot as the 370z badge? How does the Fairlady Z badge attach, 3M?
|
I am located at Jersey City. Add a poll please
|
I like it! We saw one on a 350Z convertible yesterday, I had to explain the story to my wife ,about the Fairlady badge.
|
From a JDM perspective......
......Very nice  |
The Fairlady Z emblem (ordered from thezstore) came with a template. All you have to do is unpeel the back, align the corners of the template and then stick away.
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...e/IMG_0217.jpg Quick note on debadging: Never try to pry them off with your fingers!! I tried prying off the Z part of the 370Z emblem from the top right side and ended up getting an indentation on my paint from the bottom left side of the 'Z'. To debadge, all you have to do is: 1 Heat up the area with a hair dryer or a heat gun. 2 Use a fishing line or dental floss to remove the '3' '7' '0' and the 'Z' 3 Heat up the area again and the left over 3m from the emblem should rub off 4 There will be areas where it will not rub off so use Goo Gone with a microfiber to clean it off (use olive oil if you don't have Goo Gone). |
I put one on my Z I would LOVE A REAL RIGHT HAND DRIVE Z thats a real Fairlady Z
|
I dig it. I wonder where the people are who voted nay and what their thoughts are.
|
I like. I love the fact that it comes with a template too. I will be stopping by the Z store as soon as mine arrives.
|
Just replaced my badge

this is JMO but i voted no only because its not really a fairlady unless its a right hand drive z
its just not the same im not saying its not nice put it this way for those who are into domestics if i had a base mustang ,supercharge it, add all the fixin to make it look like a cobra, add a cobra badge...would you call it a cobra or a wannabe cobra :D again this is JUST MY OPINION :P but hey maybe ll change my mind later but for now i will proudly wear my 370z badge |

I like it! Coming from the German car community and how we changed all the badges to Eurospec badges to pay homage to the cars' origins...I think it works!! I may do the same!

the badge is nice. good job with that. personally i like it.
i'm not sure it would translate well here in the States. for those that don't know about the Z heritage will probably laugh at the 'Fairlady' word because quite frankly for a sports car advertised with 332hp, it's kinda weak sounding compared to the american cars names like mustang and/or camero, etc. |

I do hope people who see it and wonder will ask and not just make fun of it. |
I like it.. and will consider using the badge on my car as well.
You can't compare it to someone who had a base model Mustang and converted it to a Cobra then slapped the badge on because you can actually buy the Cobra. To me, our 370z are the same thing as the FairladyZ.. there's no even more top end model that you can buy, I think by using the badge, you're just paying omage to it's Japanese name. It will also give your vehicle a small sleeper look leaving people wondering what you're driving ;) Edit: My girlfriend laughs at the fact i'd consider putting "Fairlady" on the back of my car.. she thinks of it in the girly-man sense lol. |
Looks like the yeys have it!

Cars off the assembly line are all the same. You want to do something to it to make it different...personalize it. I am not sure I would do it, but I like it! |
Yeah, I think there is a little bit of a difference between calling a car something it's not, and calling the car something it's called somewhere else. Since they are the same car, no big deal in my opinion. Not like taking a z and throwing a gt-r badge on it :D
|
I wouldn't do it to my car just because people are retarded enough when they see me on the street. Louisville is big on american muscle and the corvette, so a lot of stupid kids driving their parents' cars asking dumb questions and revving their engines. I don't need another stupid one added to the long list, lol.
As for how it looks, I think it's fine. |
PS, just checked thezstore.com looking at the emblem. For the 350 fairlady badge, $27. For the 370 fairlady badge, $40.
:mad::shakes head: |

Owning a Z is awesome. A ton of random people come up to me and ask me about the car. Followed by I didn't know there was a 370, and how is is different. I usually start with how about opening your damn eyes! If it had fairladyZ on it you would have to explain it all day long! I guess you could just say google it mofo! |
not to high jack but I saw a Datsun fairlady 1600 on the hiway I was in my g on one side of him and in no time a 350Z was up on the other side. there were big thumbs up all around.

After only a couple months, here is what my Fairlady badge looks like. Any thoughts? Looks like some heavy oxidation.

I ordered it from TheZStore.com. I assume everyone gets these things from the same place, but I could be wrong.
PS, I just noticed it, or I would have let you guys know sooner. Hopefully you have better luck than I did! |
Yes I definitely have to go with either the FairLady or no badge at all..
