^ You're right in that it's a 350 badge. It's on my wife's 350. I'm fine with the 370 badge on my car for now. ;]
That being said, I don't know where you're buying "genuine" parts from. All the normal websites I'm going to seem to be selling the same thing. The one the thread starter ordered is from the same exact place. Not sure what you're seeing in the pic that says "cheap aftermarket" other than the obvious damage, but your eyes must be better calibrated than mine. |
I ordered mine from the same place, they currently have them on back order so I still have not gotten it. Wondering if it is wise to cancel my order, or at last remove it from my order (have some floor mats also coming).
I will email them and link this thread and see if they can comment on it. |

Just got an email back,
We’ve never seen the emblems fade like that. These emblems are genuine Nissan parts and the quality is very good. We’ve been offering these since 2003, when the first 350Z came out and this is the first I’ve seen that did this. I would be more inclined to think that some sort of chemical used, maybe when washing the car, caused this to happen. Not saying you did anything wrong frost, but this is what they stated. |
Hmm, I'm going to e-mail the Z store to see if the emblem is for thr 370Z model and not the 350Z.. I'm sure they are slightly different to accomodate the different angle of the rear end?
|
On a side note: ??????Z ???????? | WEB STORE FAIRLADY Z | ?????
Thought it was interesting that in Japan they are probably making a killing selling the USA badges.. Pricing looks to be about $45 for a "370Z" badge so we're all paying about the same amount. |

On a serious note, I wash the car every other week with a name brand soap in soft water. Before I was going to let it slide, but this response from them has me a little upset. |
I would demand an exchange, Frost and see if they stand for their company.
|
^ The wife just Emailed them. So I'll keep you updated on how they handle the situation.

I just received my FairladyZ badge in the mail today... it does indeed come in Nissan OEM packaging.. I cross referenced the item number (i'm at work right now, no pics/info) on the web for a brief moment while I was still at home and the badge is INDEED for a 370Z (Z34) and it is NOT the FairladyZ badge from the 350 (Z33).
That being said, this is good news.. it's an OEM badge straight off the JDM Fairlady for those worried about the emblem not being OEM or from the 350Z variant. I'll take pictures of the packaging in a bit. Jay |

I've done my share of "modifying aesthetically" on other cars...so w/ the lil experience i would say no, just because now i just love clean stock car.

A few quick questions:
~How did you remove the 370Z? ~Pressure when applying the new letters? Hold your hand on top for any time with X amount of pressure? |
Hmm.. I like it but wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the Fairlady Z for $26 with the old Z logo and reuse the Z that's currently on with the 370 Z?
Does anyone know if the Z size is different? |

this is what you should do. buy some fishing line and "turtle wax bug and tar remover"......do not get goo gone, it's a total waste of time. spray on the turtle wax all over the emblem....it's foamy stuff, so it sticks well.....let it sit for a few mins...then use the fishing and slice the emblem off. then spray more turtle and remove the rest of the adhesive...then wax with anything you like. there might be a shadow left of the emblem, but once you detail the car, it will disappear. hope this helps, it's what i did  |

As I was putting each lettering on, you just apply firm pressure on each letter.. I kind of flexed my bumper in certain places from the pressure but no harm done. I figure a few hot days will harden up the adhesive and they will as good as stock again. As of right now, they are pretty pliable still.. someone could easily rip them off the car.. Hopefully they firm up soon. |

Hey, I even installed it in the same manner when I posted so that was the fun part. Sitting and removing the 370Z was making me so inpatient I almost had to stop and come back later. |
you should have done that and take a pic of the adhesive and said it's a blacked out 370z emblem...........lol
