I have not seen anyone create a thread for the new 2011 gun metallic color option, so here we go.

The rules of this thread are simple, only pictures of Z34 that have the paint code KAD may be posted.

First pics I saw of this color... very nice! And to the 40th owners it is a bit different so thats good too...

I've been waiting for a proper dark grey color to come out, this Gun Metallic is perfect. I went and lurked around the dealer today. I think this is the color I'll end up with. I was planning on purchasing this summer but it might be fall now.

@Racer X: Yep, it sure is. I'm still in the break-in stage, so I drove all of GMR at the speed limit. Using the SRM was pretty fun, but I turned it off half way through it. I was slightly apprehensive going around the turns because I'm still getting a feel for the way the car behaves. So far I have not been disappointed.

I instantly recognized Glendora Mountain Ridge Road, it almost resembles platinum graphite in certain places but it is certainly darker and looks great with that back drop. You should definitely come to some of our "cruises!"

Yes Gun Metallic is definitely NOT Platinum Graphite.

+1 in pics looks almost identical

Here's a side by side comparison of Gun Metallic on the left and Platinum Graphite to the right. The lighting was poor and I'm sure the differences are more discerning under natural lighting, however, it's obvious that GM is darker than PG.

PG has a sort of a dingy coloration to it and is brownish bronze. It's very warm in color. The GM is more of a true shade of gray without any discoloration towards the warm spectrum of colors.

If I were picking up my z today thus color would be on my short list..

Yes Black, White and Gun Metallic are always my first 3 choices.

This is what I've been waiting to see. Gun Metallic is definitely darker than PG. Has more of a gray hue too.

I'd love to see a 40th Anniversary in the picture too.

Is it me or does Gun Metallic remind me of the GT-R. Sure looks similar to the GT-R I saw sitting at the dealership last summer.

I also want this color. At least if you get it during fall you can take adv of the year end sale. When I return from afghanistan, i'll purchase one around fall too! lmk how much they are in Nash-vegas since I am stationed in Campbell, KY. YEEHAW

damn! I always thought GM and PG were the same. I've always known about PG being offered and started to hear about the GM. So is GM the new PG being offered?

If I'm not mistaken, Nissan discontinued PG and intro'd GM for the 2011 yr. So it wasn't mid-cycle.

Why does it suck for PG owners? I'm actually happy. PG was a very popular color and at least now there will be no more made in that exact color. GM looks nice too so I am sure that will sell like hot cakes (keeping it relative to the low amount of 370s sold in the US).

Here is my 2011 370Z sport in Gun Metallic. It was actually 50 degrees here in NH so I took out my Adams products and gave her a good bath. To bad the roads are wet from all the snow melting, after it was clean I didn't want to drive it.
