This is why my car isn't coming off the lot!!!

I don't know if this is a member on here...it looks like they took the z out to test it out a little bit. This is why I'm ordering mine, and am very weary about buying a sports car off a lot. You never know what the test drives consist of. MILD NSFW Warning for some language

I agree with you! I've seen car dealers on the streets, driving cars from the lot, almost too the point of abuse!

I agree 1000 percent I have never and will never, buy a performance car on the lot. I ordered my firebird, 350, will order my 370 and so on and so forth

Anatoray 03-09-2009 10:17 PM

Wow, the passanger was annoying... So annoying the video apologizes for it lol.

It doesn't look like they do anything too crazy, although they d talk about drifting if it weren't for people... They are doing an inordinate amount of ******* around though. That is my fear about buying ANY car from the lot, and I honestly would not have bought the one at my dealership if it wasn't for the fact that it only had 6 miles on it.

Money Shot 03-09-2009 11:48 PM

Hate to break it to you but even if you ordered your car, it'll still have 5-6 miles on it when you get it. Who's to say they didn't "test" the car like crazy for a mile or two? Ignorance is bliss in this case; besides the VQ engine has been around for ages and I bet it's meant to be beaten from day one especially in a 370z.

Dark_Sub_Rosa 03-10-2009 12:22 AM

Screw that, demo cars get used hard and put up wet. If I end up with one I'm definitely ordering it.

Anatoray 03-10-2009 12:51 AM

Demo cars are always questionable, but they're also where you can usually find the deals, especially on first year cars. Chances are someone probably did do a fairly rough test drive of it, but will one or two wild drives before the engine is "broken in" ruin it for life? I highly doubt it. Its for those reasons though you check out a car on the lot inside and out twice, and do your own test drive of that very car.

Moneyshot is right though: ignorance is bliss.

You're right, I don't know what happens between the factory and truck, but I'll take my chances that the employees that move the cars do so in a professional manner.

I would rather order a car like this, then to pick one up from the lot that has been beat on by joy-riders.

These engines are built to last, but a properly broken-in motor will always last longer than one that's been put through its paces too early.

You say that jokingly, but my mechanic has a customer who actually pays him extra after getting a new clutch, or brake rotors, or whatever to keep the car for a week, drive it around, and break everything in. The guy's attitude is 'I don't want to deal with that stuff. You do it for me.'
