Default Trouble with Homelink Reset

Hi all,

So I picked up a 2012 370Z Touring on Friday, and I can't seem to get past the very first step of the Homelink setup. Funny how I'm a web developer in the Silicon Valley writing code on a daily basis, and I can't figure out a friggin' rear view mirror's programming. Ugh.

The Z manual and everything I've found online says to hold the 1 and 3 (outside) buttons to 'reset' the device so you can program it, however...I can't get it to do so. The green light never blinks so I can try programming it with my garage door opener, and I'm not sure what else to do. I've held down the buttons for over a minute, several times. I assume the unit should be 'on,' and it is...

Is it possible it's defective, or am I missing something here?

Thanks,

-Mike

It's been awhile, so I am not positive, but did you have the car turned to on while trying the reset?

Your dealer did not prep your car when you bought it. They should have disengaged the extended storage switch. It is done by fully pressing in a fuse located on the driver side kick panel. Check this for details. Give your dealership a call to let them know they did not prep the car for delivery. It will also fix you a/c temp setting.

Ah, is this why the A/C temp setting is never remembered when I turn off the car and turn is back on?

This makes so much more sense. I'm actually heading to the dealership this evening, so I'll have them deal with it instead of me.

Thanks for the help axmea?!

@Roadster4Us...yeah, the car wasn't actually on, but I had things powered up.

Hey axmea?...thanks again for the help...got everything working.

As I mentioned, I had to go to the dealership anyway today, so I thought, "I'll let them deal with it." Three guys tried to find the panel of fuses...none were successful. I finally pointed it out to them, and they had to look at the instruction book to figure it out. You'd think they'd never sold a Z before

Your welcome and glad you got it going. I learned it from a brother from this forum. I was merely passing the wealth. As for the dealership, that's embarrassing for them. Imagine all the Z's that left their lot.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I had trouble programing my homelink buttons and also was getting the other symptoms mentioned here.

I checked, and indeed the car didn't have the fuse pushed in. Thank you!
