phone book problem

Heres a real minor problem ..minor but I would appreciate help on this. I set up addresses in the phone book but there is a problem with certain types of numbers...specifically when I have a number that dials a business and then you need to pause and then punch another number for a specific department ... For example in my cell phone I have say 401-555-1212*** 5 so the phone dials then pauses then dials five..
I cant duplicate this with the voice dial in the car.. any ideas?

The manual says you can say the word pause when storing a number, but I saw reports it doesn't work.
