Second Oil Analysis by Blackstone (with Nissan Ester)

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...5308b1ae6b.jpg

This is my second time that I upload the report for Blackstone's oil analysis on my Z (2010 Sports).

1. feel so good that I made good choice to go by the Ester.
2. more trust to Nissan I got to have !!
3. really still runs like a new hitting almost 100K miles !!
4. Oil change interval 4K must be better than 5K.

Anyway thanks A LOT for recent low gas prices compared to the previous years in here California. :D

DEpointfive0 12-31-2014 06:14 PM

Nissan Ester Oil is legit shít

Japanjay 12-31-2014 06:40 PM

Dreadnaught 12-31-2014 10:03 PM

DOOMMONKEY777 12-31-2014 10:21 PM

Wow 100k miles on raced vq nice, am looking forward enjoying this car for a long time

Zoren 370 12-31-2014 10:23 PM

Driftomodachi 12-31-2014 10:30 PM

Not quite, it has a Ester base DONT quote me though :eekdance:

Zoren 370 01-01-2015 01:08 AM

David I think your right its Ester based. Which is the right term for it.

dP3NGU1N 01-01-2015 01:25 AM

What's the difference between ester based oil and Nissan ester oil? Or would the Nissan oil be considered "ester based" as well... Semantics?

DOOMMONKEY777 01-01-2015 05:01 AM

Easter was designed to keep the vvel noise down, u can use any oil u like, except the cheapest one as long as its the right weight. 5w-30 vq37vhr.

Nissan Ester oil is recommended in the 370Z user's manual by Nissan.

Nissan's Ester oil has about 3 times as much Mo (Molybdenum), which is a metal to metal lubricant, as any other motor oil

IDZRVIT 01-01-2015 07:56 AM

Nissan ester oil contains a 'magic' ingredient. Diamonds iirc. Used to keep bearing surfaces polished thereby reducing friction. It's was discussed here a few years back. Take a look here:

I just got the second oil change (Nissan ester oil) on my 2014 Z at 3000 miles (every six months) the other day. Total bill, including oil at $12.00 a quart (5), and filter, was $75.00. Got a few dollars off with an on-line dealer coupon.

gbrettin 01-01-2015 10:37 AM

Frequent maintenance is key to getting the most out of any car. Thanks for sharing your results!

tnav 01-01-2015 11:11 AM

Thank you for sharing, that's all use, $100 at Nissan, I change it every 3k miles which lately is roughly every 3 months

Spooler 01-01-2015 11:55 AM

I don't like your Silicon levels. What air intake/filters are you using? I would like to see that
a little lower.

I did my best that my service advisor said it's my best maintenance. Thanks.

every 4-5k I get my maintenance only at the dealorship and change any part if necessary without delay. that multipoint inspection doesn't say the air intake/filter to be a new.

Spooler 01-01-2015 12:44 PM

So you still have the stock intake and air filter setup? I would change filters and look for any loose breather hose connections after the air filter box. Your Silicon levels are not way out of whack, just a little higher than the average that looks like a 19 from your report.

Well.. you know I'm not that an auto expert. I just do my best by the result of Nissan maintenance sheet.

How many miles on your car? Standard Nissan Maintenance would change the air filters at 15,000 miles. If you are in the <10,000 mile range your issue may just be due to break in/assembly and the levels will drop further.

LOL, I guess I forgot what I read yesterday... Yes, you would have changed
both air filters several times.

cigarclifford 01-01-2015 01:01 PM

I have sent oils sample's to Black Stone laboratories several times with
the same positive results....

I am at 72,000 miles and Ester Oil is changed every 3000 miles.:iagree:

Ooopsie. I used 0-40W last time.

Can you run oil with ZDDP (Such as VR-1) in modern cars?

Just wondering. I use it in my old car with flat tappets.

ZDDP may stop up the cats, if you have them.

Why? What are you hoping to accomplish running that weight?

The 40 part makes sense. That's what my tuner recommends. I was more curious about the 0 part.

Zero schmeero. No problems. We all know the 40w sheer of the mobile 1 is good , meaning like 30w.

This is why I run redline, can't beat the Mo! Zinc and Phos are your other wear metals you want! The 99 Mo is mobil 1.

And as far as I know redline and Motul use the best stock, Polyol-ester.
