Every thread you post in seems to have "facts" but no links to the "facts", dude. Like your comment on Japanese Z's being built with different materials than the US model, which is just a huge facepalm.

I'm beginning to think starting this thread was a bad idea :icon14:

I didn't say that they use different materials. I said they are allowed to use more of the lightweight materials n less steel. They also don't need the same level of reinforcements in on the chassis in japan as here in the US. It makes for a lighter car. My friend who is now done with the service and did 2 tours in iraq lived in japan 7 years. He owned 3 cars. 2 nissans and 1 honda. The honda integra, nissan bluebird, and fairlady Z33. All of which he compared to its US versions. All had more standard features. Down to navigation was standard in his car. Plus all his cars were under 3k pounds. The biggest difference was with the american nissan bluebird and nissan maxima. I don't remember the exact numbers but I remember the car having a near 500lb difference to the american model. The Z he owned was like 288 lbs lighter than the american car. I don't recall him modifying the car for weight.
I don't think a 12 year air force vet with 2 tours in iraq and a college degree n 4 mechanics licenses is gonna bullsh1t me on this info. He is licensed in airframe, powerplant, autobody, and auto mechanics. So his word is good for me. N as far as where's the proof. Look it up yourselves n prove me wrong instead of jus arguing for the sake of arguing.
N like I said. Why would the most hardcore of performance enthusiasts bring over right sided steering wheel cars here if there wasn't a performance benefit. What they are buying is that domestic japan spec built chassis. That's what they need most. Even in some models. Hardcore enthusiasts need the japan spec motors as well. Cuz there's a difference sometime. Especially with honda and toyota.
This is extremely common knowledge. Call unique motorsports in long island ny.
They import and sell these japan domestic cars. Ask them why people buy the japanese cars instead of the US imports and ask for the weight difference. There's ya homeowrk.

As far as the system goes. I had a 93 rx7 fully blown n turbo'd I crammed a $3,000
900rms watt audio system in a total space that's smaller than a Z. Less insulated n if any of u have experience with the 13B? U kno a modded rotary is loud as fu€k.
My system drowned out 95% of the sound in 70% power. I had alpine amps infinity speakers n crossovers, fogate subs which at the time were excellent. I been putting systems in my car since goosenecks were the craze. So I think I kno a lil something. The Z is a very hard car to get a loud system in but its not impossible if u are creative n are willing to put some time into it.
If ur an audiophile? It will be worth doing. If u r nor? Then just leave it be.
The bose isn't terrible in sound in general. But yes, that engine is loud and the optional stereo, to an audiophile. Will not be sufficent. Plain and simple, the bose system is good but sucks for this car.
Sum of u get so combative over minor sh1t. That's wat kills stuff on here.
Is it necessary to be all. " slap whoever told u that in the face" or " I don't understand guido"
"Why is me saying japanese cars are lighter in weight than american cars because safety standards are much higher in america could cause so much upset? You can't express your point in a constructive manner. N then if I get at u they way u get at me. U guys start baby cryin. Save the drama 4 ya mama bruh. We all in here cuz we are enthusiasts in one way or another.

Yeah I guess this thread was a terrible idea. B1octhin over 1 point of u that is purely subjective anyway.

OK, "bruh". That was a lot of rambling, and still not one link to support your "facts", lmao. Still :roflpuke2: about the metallurgy comments, "bruh"!

I myself think the bose system on the new Z is just fine.
Apparently the younger crowd is not pleased with any OEM system because there thing is after market audio.Thats cool but if all I was worried about was my high dollar audio system I would have bought a base van and went for it.
I bought the best sports car for the dollar in my opinion and truthfully the way it handles and runs is all the music I need to hear!

Heh, never even turned on the sound, I was having too much fun. Is it any good? The wife has a Bose in her Benz SUV and it sounds awesome.

Here's your link b*#@h...

UNIQUE AUTOSPORTS

Contact auto body or the sales dept. Maybe u might even be able to get at Will himself. Ask them if there is a weight difference from the japan chassis that they sell and the american versions that people bring in to modify? I'm sure they'd be more than happy to answer your wannabe newbie a$$ questions...

N that's my point exactly. U r NOT an audiophile. So your cars radio is good enough.
As a human being and a respectful person. Your opinion is respected. :)
An audiophile will most likely not agree with this. But doesn't make u or him wrong.
This is why this whole THREAD is MOOT!!!!!

SOMEBODY CLOSE THIS WACK A$$ BULL$H1T ThREad

Where are the guys doin things with there cars?
Where are the guys who mod then put there cars on the laser to get there new quarter mile times with there bolt ons?
Where are the guys that race for $1000 a race?
Where are the guys that oem interiors are moot?
Where are the guys that really respect the import tuner scene n not act like nissan is the new bimmer?
The import scene was so much better while it was still urban n suburbia wasn't part of it. This forum went down the tubes...
Japanese car buyers were the salt of the earth type people now they are more like the wannabe elite of BmW. :(
Everything suburbia/midwest/south touchez turns to $h1t!!!

The best that's done on here is who has the best Z n is the bose any good?
But no 1 wants anyones opinion. Everyone argue. A very pale mentality up in here.
I'm out....

The stereo in my 370Z (when I buy her) will go to ELEVEN.

TongMan 07-31-2010 07:35 AM

I have the base sound system and its really weak. It has no bass. The sound system in my 2006 tC and 2008 Civic Si sounds better. Plus I cant even play mp3s. Dissappointed in the sound system in a 30k car.

Vegitto-kun 07-31-2010 08:14 AM

the bose in my Z is perfect.

I cant crank it up fully or my ears will bleed

Kirkster 07-31-2010 10:47 AM

Frankly the Bose system in the 370 Roadster is good enough that I don't want to replace it. Since I got the nav option (which I did not want, but glad I got in hindsight) I am exceedingly pleased with the setup.

Yes it lacks base when you turn it up, yes it distorts a bit when you crank it to 11. These are things I am willing to live with as I am not looking to put McIntosh amps in a car again.

I tend to leave my audiophile tendencies in the house where they belong. Until I can get a sound stage like I get from my Totem Acoustic setup in the house I just don't want to drop the cash involved in creating a sup par sound stage in an environment not acoustically conductive to creating a great sound stage. Make no doubt, a car is not an environment that lends itself to making a good sound stage.

the base system is the worst radio EVER put into a car.
a boom box from wal-mart put in the rear hatch would sound better.

Justin1686 07-31-2010 08:28 PM

steve, getting another Z? i've got the bose in my Z, and i cant complain about it. It's good, not great, but good. I'm always with the windows down and music on. The bass is not heavy, but thats partly because there is no need for it. the cabin is small enough to handle the size sub thats in the car. I will agree with chief_roka on the idea that for price of the touring you can do a custom system in the car. But, I do not regret one bit getting sport+touring, as i was considering doing a custom stereo as i had in 1 of my previous cars. you will not be unhappy with it.

(just realized date on this post, clearly before u got urs.

PapoZalsa 07-31-2010 09:02 PM

I got one word: AFTERMARKET!

Double Din.

npdabest 07-31-2010 09:45 PM

Our G37 system is bose (I believe) and I'll have to use it again but I think it is better than the one in the 370z.

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the quality but it wasn't too bad. I like to bass it out sometimes so most of my opinion is based on that.
