Default Rjm clutch pedal system

Just ordered my rjm clutch pedal system. Was not cool with the stiff and high engagement point. Can't wait to arrive. Really good reviews about the pedal system here on this forum. Finally I can lower the engagement point for easier daily driving.

You don't need to modify anything but your driving just yet. You just need practice.

You've had the car for three days. Don't modify anything yet. Just learn to drive it as is.

Listen to what Chuck is saying. Practice, Practice. Save the money and put it towards other things that you are wanting. Like they say "If it isn't broke, don't fix it"!!!! Give it some time.

Have you taken out the spring on the clutch yet? 5 min procedure and it makes a difference. Chucks right about getting use to it,but chances are you would've went this route anyway. Some people don't like the clutch while others not so much. I feel if I was to add the rjm peddle,it wouldn't be as aggressive, and I like the aggressiveness the stock pedals at.

I ordered it, it's 30 days money back. Within a month I'll decide if I want to put it on or not. Either way it's no worries I can always return it.

You ordered it, it's a great product, go ahead and put it on.

If you hadn't ordered it I'd say just take time and get used to the car.

Practicing is going good, haven't stalled today at all lol. Just at red lights and stop signs I have to concentrate on my clutch pedal cause it's high engagement and gas a bit. Sometimes I over rev and sometimes I get it at 1.5k and its a smooth take off. Kinda get nervous when traffic is behind me, I'm worried I'll stall lol

I went from stock clutch spring to lighter spring and then to rjm pedal. Each step did make the Z a little more driver friendly. However once you put in the rjm pedal, you're not going to take it out. Why? Cuz it's a bitch getting yourself under there to change the pedal!!!

In hindsight, if I was to do it all over again, I would just stop after the lighter helper spring.

I've been driving manual cars for over 27 years and I've had a number of cars. Each one has had a different clutch feel BMW,VW 88',VW 01, Toyota, Infiniti/Nissan.

When I first picked up my 370z from the dealer and drove it home I was worried about two things. Stalling and getting rear ended or engaging to abruptly from standstill and rear ending someone. I know I looked like I only had 3 days manual experience to on lookers.

I searched for clutch mods also the first week but I didn't perform any. The more I drove the car the more comfortable I became with it.

To me the 370z is like a motorcycle you have to get in enough driving time to where you start to become one with it. I have close to 5k on my Z and I am quite comfortable with it but I know I still have a way to go.

I am just opposite, I would have skipped the springs and just installed the rjm assembly first and called it done.

Compared to what people pay for non functional parts, I.e. Carbon fibre, louder exhaust, funky shift knobs etc you can't go wrong with the value for dollars spent with the RJM pedal. It will help you. The clutch pedal feel will actually be stiffer but the engagement point will be lower to the floor and the engagement window will be larger so you eliminate the on/off switch feeling with the stock pedal system. As a side note, I don't think anyone that has an RJM pedal has had csc failure.

Depends how you look at with esthetics, but with the louder exhaust,it's only louder, because there's very little obstructing the exhaust flow. And we all know what that converts to... Moar powah!
