in ny, long island, someone hit my brothers car in a parking lot, it was a hit and run. we call the cops, made a report, called insurance (allstate), went to a local shop, got a estimate, went to my insurance adjuster, they made a estimate, 3k. got the car fixed for 1k. pocketed 2k. allstate and my agent said, our rates will not go up due to the fact no one was in the car when this happened. (hit and run). just going by what happened to us, this was last week.
