It's illegal to post the word America standalone like that, unless you include an image of America™. ;)

it is interesting that topic like this always places too much emphasis in the performance stats while it often neglects the most important factor in car ownership - the emotional factor.

I looked at the nismo and prefer the sport looks. For what I do with it, the performance difference (what little there is) doesn't matter. I'm not a car guy, but I love cars. Not sure if that counts or if I just proved an earlier point.

Either way, the choice is definitely first world problems. Kind of like did you buy a Patek Phillipe or an Omega watch? Both of them are great, but one is obviously better... right? (or so the price tags tell us) Did you sign your sales contract with a Montblanc or a Parker? Montblanc's definitely perform and look better... :stirthepot:

I love these threads...some want to debate weight of the Nismo or the extra cost for the body kit and suspension when they will spend tons on carbon fiber (weighs more), another kit, and $3 to $4K on wheels that weigh more than Nismo wheels by 5lbs or more.

I drove both before buying mine, would have gone with a 5.0 Mustang if I hadn't driven the Nismo. The uniqueness of the body kit is remarkable...I get more attention than I want at times and some that is priceless. This weekend in the Phoenix area a soccer mom had to stop short at a stoplight so her son could take a picture of my car.

Buy what moves ya and don't look back! For me and the my other Nismo brothers and sisters we are :owned:

At least your car has the performance that matches the looks of the Nismo. One day, mine will too. Hence, my user name. :)

Right on brother....I said that same thing before getting the twins! I want my car to be as fast as it looks and now it does. I don't really comment on the out of the box performance stuff or much on paper numbers because there is always a faster car or should I say dyno queen.

I learned a while back when I was bass fishing that big engines don't mean much on the water if you can't drive it....I went by a lot of guys with 225 and 250 with my 200 Yamaha! Water is wicked, you can't make mistakes with 24" of glass skipping across it!

There is thing that can't be argued against and that is the functionality of the aerodynamics with the Nismo package (pre 15). It's functional and noticeable at triple digits.

Yeah, I miss my 1990 300zxtt. Informed the wife I will make my own in the future with the 370z.

Adding to a discussion point about why I made my choice. I got a significant discount to get a fully loaded touring, sport, premium sound and navigation package with nearly every other option except Nismo. No exterior mods yet, but basic bolt-ons and a tune now have me at 323 at the wheel or 387 at the crank. This is adjusted down from 330 due to temperature. The custom upgrade was much cheaper than a Nismo option with the other options added. She is a fun beast to drive. May do suspension at some point, but only if I decide to track it.

This is a VERY true statement!!! The Twin Turbo Z was right up there with the 911 Turbo. I remember lusting over the Z at the time. I was just a kid, but knew all about ergonomics and thinking the cockpit was so bad ***, perfect, not to mention the performance. Alas, the pricing for a Nissan was its silver bullet. The 350 was the product of that lesson. In 2002, it put a world class hurting on the Boxsters and Mustangs. It was a game changer. The iteration in 2009 to the 370 wasnt quite as dramatic because it fell behind a mere 18 months later in the performance aspect, but still a neck breaker.

I have a Nismo hat too.

That hat makes everything faster I bet. :ughdance:
